Would you like to dance with Jesus?
My Uncle Bob sent me this message along with the image and ...I loved it.
I wanted to credit the author so I googled it and found a site called John Mark Ministries.
Dancing with God
When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness gentle guidance and skill ...My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE.
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I"
"dance".
God, you and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you this day and every day.May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you
through each season of your life.
Isn't that beautiful? It reminded me of a video I had seen on YouTube that seemed to act out this dance with God.
In our flesh, we often fight Him and want to lead. We want to be like everyone else because it can be hard to be different.
Are you willing to trust Him, surrender to His will and ...abide in Him?
Our dance with Jesus will be different from the world around us.
But He is worth it!
Know you, one of the jobs of the Leader is to make the Follower shine. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy Saviour is the ultimate dance partner.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! So many times I'm too afraid to dance to what's playing inside my head, for fear of how it will look. But no more! I think more than anything God wants us to dance in our own unique style!
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie....this IS wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThankyou soo very much for sharing this! I agree with Denise! HE truly is the ULTIMATE dance partner!

That video is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Doylene
ReplyDeleteI loved this!! Who better than Him??
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the music.
ReplyDeleteMy father used to dance with my mother and we four girls. He was a graceful partner, helping us to stay in step with a waltz, or a polka. We giggled the whole time, but let me tell you: for those moments in Dad's arms I was a princess.
Wonderful post!

Oh Debbie, what a precious visual. I LOVE to dance. The Lord has given me a non-dancing hubby. I can't wait to dance with Him someday.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this from your personal email today for us. I remember it from so long ago and it was like reading it for the first time today. The video is powerful and brought tears to my eyes. Yes, Debbie, let's dance with Jesus only.
ReplyDeleteNever read this before. I'll never forget it either. Beautifully said.

There is noone like our God!
ReplyDeleteThere is noone like our God!
Oh to dance with Jesus! Pure bliss - and His steps are like floating on His feet!
Debbie - I'm so sorry Scott didn't tape tonight - it was by far his most passionate teaching yet. He taught through Jonah. God used him to touch our hearts deeply about walking in complete obedience to Him!!!! Not in where we are comfortable or when - but whenever God calls for us to say and only say - YES LORD!
Hugs and much love,
Jill
i've seen that skit before and it never fails to make me teary eyed. God loves us that much. sometimes it's just so hard when you've been praying for something and for so long and still nothing happens... but of course we know that God works in ways beyond ours. thank you for praying for us, debbie. (((HUGS)))
