I had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Bible Study Fellowship several years ago. It's located in San Antonio, Texas and that just so happens to be where one of my BFF lives. So, when I was visiting Jamie and her family we stopped by BSF headquarters.
Since I'd served as a BSF Children's leader for seven years, I was looking forward to this visit. The grounds are beautiful and everything is so well taken care of. Jamie and I came to be friends through BSF. Her daughter Ellie was in my class when she was 3 years old.
BSF has a huge printing press. It's so interesting to see how this works. We were given a tour of the facility and I was able to see our lessons being printed. Almost all of the work is done by volunteers. In fact, people come from all over the country to spend time volunteering at headquarters. I once met a woman who told me she volunteered every year in the kitchen. Her husband paid for her trip as her birthday present and she loved it.
This is a walk down memory lane. I believe this might have been 2005. As I see Jamie's son Braden looking so young, I had to laugh.
Jamie sent me this photo of Braden this morning and ...he's driving.
How fast times goes by!

Blessings and love,
What a fun look back and reminder of blessings!
ReplyDeleteHow fun....like the Mommy Piggy Tales...it does a heart good to look back and see God's hands on us all!
ReplyDeleteTime sure does go by fast! It seems like only yesterday that my children were young...wait...that I was young! lol But God is with us at every stage. I'm so thankful that as time goes by, my relationship with the Lord deepens. Everyday He shows me something new. Thanks for sharing your pics and the BSF info!

ReplyDeleteWhat fun to read your post! I used to be a Teaching Leader with BSF. I wish I could be in the Isaiah study this year, but now I don't live anywhere near a class. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting post. I love this kind of human interest. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI never knew that was where the headquarters were located.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been by in a while. I'm ready for November. :o)

ReplyDeleteLOL, I posted about BSF today too! Our class starts tomorrow. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your memories! I completed four years of BSF when our kids were pre-schoolers too. A wonderful foundation for them. (Thanks for serving as a teacher.) They are now twenty-somethings, and vibrant Christians.
I had forgotten that BSF is headquartered in Texas. Thx for the info!
Blessings,
