I'm so glad it's Then Sings My Soul Saturday when I link up with Amy of Signs, Miracles and Wonders.
Have you ever had a moment when a song ministered to you?
Yesterday, I was driving into town (I used to live in town but now it takes me 45 minutes). So much has been going on lately and I was just so weary. I turned on the CD and listened to this song over and over again.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle choir is awesome! I've attended church services while in NYC several times and so I had the opportunity to hear them in person. This song is called "Lord I Believe in You". I added the lyrics below and some of them are in Spanish. It's like getting a little a glimpse into the heavenly choir with people from all tribes and nations.
Lord I Believe in You ~ Brooklyn Tabernacle ChoirHappy Saturday!
Though I can't see, your Holy Face
And your throne in heaven above,
it seems so far away.
And though I can't touch, can't touch your nail scarred hands,
I have a deep unspeakable joy that makes my faith to stand.
Chorus
Lord I believe in You
I'll always believe in You.
Though I can't see You with my eyes,
Deep in my heart your presence I find.
Lord I believe in you, And I'll keep my trust in you,
Let this whole world, say what they may, no one can take
This joy away, Lord I believe.
Enviado del cielo Eres aquel escojido por Dios
Eres el unico y cierto camino
Hasta su corazón
Moriste en la cruz Resucitaste y hoy vives en mí
Venciste al pecado y la muerte
¡Y ahora soy libre al fin!
Coro
Cristo yo creo en ti Yo siempre creeré en ti
Aunque no puede verte Señor,
Eres real en mi corazón!
Cristo yo creo en ti.
Por siempre creeré en ti.
Aunque se nigue el mundo a creer
No dejaré mi gozo perder Yo creo en ti
Lord I believe
I believe, Chorus
Blessings and love,
Thanks for that Debbie! During my difficult times this song has been my saving grace:

I even have it on my blog for those days that I need a little extra push.
Have a wonderful weekend!
This is so beautiful Debbie! I have heard of BTC, but not heard much of their worship, so this was wonderful to hear.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know, I 'borrowed' that little pink ribbon button you used on your breast cancer awareness post, for one I did today. I didn't think you would mind lol.
Love and hugs, my sweet sister.
ps. I hope the trials pass soon enough, that you seem to be going through. They can be so draining at times, so I pray you find extra strength in Him!
Awesome.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteIt's always a special experience to visit your site.
I do know that you are going through hard times, nevertheless you are offering songs of praise to your visitors.
How strong isn't that.
Anybody can sing hymns of worship in good times.
You are singing from an honest heart, praising our Lord, "de profundis".
This way you are being a voice of hope and redemption to all Americans experiencing a similar situation these days.
The Lord is good, even when times are bad.
May you feel just how he's walking close with you this very moment.

Oh I just love good choir music! this is spectacular. It must have been wonderful for you to see them live.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Debbie, This is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely weekend.
Good Morning Sweet Friend!
ReplyDeleteLord I believe in You!
Simple and sometimes so difficult to live out!
Walking in my belief today!
Love you!

Beautiful! Songs speak to me all the time.... about a month ago when we were driving to church, (I'd been praying for months for God to touch my heart once again because I couldn't seem to feel His presence no matter what...) "Word of God Speak" by Mercy Me came on the radio and tears fell down my face. God sometimes has a way of reaching us through the beautiful music He's gifted others to share... This post is great and I thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite songs. You are such and inspiration. I know personally even through through Hurricane Katrina there were days when I felt alone, I just continued to say, "Lord, I believe in you, Lord I put my trust in You." One of my favorite songs at that time was "I'll Praise You the Storm" by Casting Crowns and "Blessed by the Name" by Matt Redman. Keep on keepin' on. We are all praying for you.

Awesome worship song. Had never heard it before but I will have to remember it. Great encouragement.
ReplyDeleteCast all your cares upon Him for He careth for you.
Have a blessed weekend!!!
Another great song to go with your "Trust and Obey" theme this year. Love this song. So beautiful and so true. Even in our dark times, we KNOW he is there with us. Thanks, Debbie, for being such an encouragement to me.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lisa
What an awesome way to start my day. I have been to Brooklyn Tabernacle...years ago, but the choir wasn't there that day.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed!!!
Thank you God for Music, in which we can praise you and become refreshed!!
What a glorious occasion is will be when people from every tongue and nation stand before our LORD united as one.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! How I love BTC! I think they are my favorite! Thanks for this! Blessings to you, sweetie!
ReplyDeleteMusic can, and often does, minister to me when nothing else can. Always a joy to stop by for a visit.
ReplyDeleteA most blessed Lord's Day to you!

ReplyDeleteGod Bless You,

Hi Debbie, I found your blog when I was on Tammi's 'at A Vessel in the Potter's Hands. She had your link, because you had tagged her.
ReplyDeleteYour question on this post: "Have you ever had a moment when a song ministered to you?
My answer is : Singer, Margaret Becker, song titled
" Who Am I "
I just turned 22, found out I was pregnant, not married, totally backslidden from Jesus, and everyone said abortion was the best thing to do. I drove to work, got there early, turned on the radio, and the lyrics of "who Am I " is what the Holy Spirit used to convict me, about my whole life style, and I cried uncontrollably, and repented. That moment changed my life, and kept me from terminating my sons, who is now 21 .
...'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6
I look forward to reading your post,
God bless,
Michele Katherine
I love the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, too Debbie.
ReplyDeleteAnd after God's word, godly anointed music ministers to me next.
The lyrics of this song are so timely and relevant to me as well. Just yesterday I received some news that could spell major change for me and my family in the weeks or months to come. I pray we will pass the test with shining colors.
I thank God for your tender heart. It has been said that the nightingale sings its sweetest songs in the darkness.
Know that I am keeping you close.
Thank you for your encouraging words in response to my blog posts. Truly, you do encourage my heart to never give up.
Love
Lidj
Such a beautiful song Debbie! I been helped so many times by an uplifting song.
ReplyDeleteYou are a sweetie Debbie...so warm and so real. I enjoy reading your posts. When I come to your blog I like to see your smiling face...and what you write makes me smile too.
Keep on blogging. So many of us are inspired by you.
Have a lovely Lord's day!

you know that I love this choir too, Debbie! I love this song, and the message. The less I depend on what I'm feeling and trust in who He is, the better off I am. Why is it so hard to learn (and re-learn) this truth?? I know, just like you do, that His way is the way of faith. I know you are learning that in new ways during this time, but in it all, He is building you up and showing you that He is faithful. Keep trusting... and I'm right there with you. :)
ReplyDeleteLove you!
That is so pretty, Debbie. Thanks for sharing it. Love you ~
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! The Lord really speaks to me through music and lyrics. There are so many songs that have spoken right into my heart. Many of Matt Maher's songs from his latest album "Alive Again". "Starry Night" by Chris August, and "Light Up the Sky" by The Afters, and many, many more.
Praying for you! Have a great day!
Love and blessings,
Kate :)
Sis, you know I enjoy as does hubby; the BTChoir. Thanks for sharing this and please know that we remain in prayer for you with love.
ReplyDeleteMay the strength of GOD be seen in every area...
I love you.
P.S. I'm sure you know of Kathleen's oral surgery today. Praying...
Hugs.
Yes, music definately ministers to my soul! I think God uses music to touch us in ways that just words can't always do. Thank you for sharing the song and message that comes through it -- TRUST!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Debbie!
