It's Then Sings My Soul Saturday when I link up with Amy of Signs, Miracles and Wonders. I didn't want to miss another day of blogging and visiting some of my favorite blogs.
I had one of those down days on Thursday. I wrote a blog post entitled "Have You Ever Felt So Tired?". Recently, I decided I was going to be a bit more transparent. I love to encourage others but there are days when I need a bit of encouragement myself and ...it was one of those days.
But I'm so blessed and thankful to have such awesome blogging and real life friends. I almost cried as I read your comments. I didn't feel so alone as you shared similiar feelings at times and suggested things that worked for you. Thank you so much for your encouragement.
Do I have it all together?
NO WAY!
My response to all of that encouragement is to ...sing and praise and worship.
Last Sunday we sang this song in my church. I've heard it in my head often since then so I thought I'd share it with you this week. There's nothing like hearing Chris Tomlin sing. So much better than if you heard me; LOL.
This song was one of our theme songs a few years ago at my church's women's retreat. I thought I'd share a few photos. This song sparked a few memories from our fun time at Bison Ranch in the Arizona mountains.
What a fun time we had that weekend! I hope you enjoy visiting other blogs on this Then Sings My Soul Saturday.
God does it so much better . . doesn't he! Just give it to him and be ready to get so surprise. He's done that for me so many times and in so many ways . . better than I could ever imagine. Love your blog. Happy Blogging and God Bless You for your goodness.
ReplyDeleteI love, love that song, too. Glad you posted it and it reminded me that I need to decide on a song myself. Hope you're feeling better. I agree that bloggy friends are so amazing. You definitely fit the "amazing" category yourself.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
What am amazing song! I have been singing it over and over ever since Barb and I listened to it. It is great how it can lift anyone's spirit, even those whose day is very ordinary. Thank you for picking it out. I'm sure it really means a lot to you, as you deal with so many unknowns in your life.
ReplyDeleteSue
That is one of my all time favorite songs!!!!
ReplyDeleteI pray I never stop singing His praises! Because there are never enough!
Love you!
Jill
I love it when a song sparks a happy moment in my life. I'm glad you found one that did that for you today.
ReplyDeleteWe all get down my friend. Even me, the happiest blogger on the planet! LOL!
You are such an encourager to us all.
You gotta keep it real!
HUGS
Kim
So glad you were able to go from "have you ever felt so tired" to "how can I keep from singing"...this song is one of those that it is impossible to hear and not join in...melodious or not...so many chains fall when we lift our voices in praise...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great example of "put on a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" :) If we would all do this when we have a hard time I KNOW that we would experience so many things.....grace, peace, breakthrough etc. Beside the Lord inhabits the praise of HIS children and we all know that when HE is in our midst mighty things happen!
ReplyDeleteBless you my friend for sharing this and may you experience HIM and HIS will...may you have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying!
Love to you
Great song! I think we all get down sometimes. Tired or just plain weary. God doesn't expect us to be up all the time. That is His job. Our job is to remember to look up towards Him when we are down.
ReplyDeleteDebbie the words to that song are beautiful and I feel that way in my heart. I love the Lord so much, he has been so good to me and my family and lately I always have a song of praise in my head especially while I am working midnights and I am usually by myself and when there are no patients I am able to pray and worship him in my spirit.
ReplyDeleteFunny about moving to Arizona...Tito and I talk about it all the time North Carolina, Georgia not while my parents are alive but then who knows I hate michigan weather.
Love you Debbie
Lisa
Hey Debbie!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be back at your blog again. It's been a while.
What a GREAT song to start singing this morning.
God is so AMAZING!!
Glad you are feeling better.
Have a blessed day♥
It's long been a favorite song of mine too. There's just something about singing - particularly the sort of singing that stirs the soul and causes praise to rise up in every fiber of our being - that often leaves me in tears.
ReplyDeleteSing on, sister. I join your chorus!
Kathleen
Great song to start the morning with...I needed to reminder to keep singing no matter what life throws my way!
ReplyDeleteBlessings Debbie, You certainly chose the best song to lift you and us up!
ReplyDeleteWhether we are weary, tired, hurt, sick, suffering, grieving, whatever
if we sing, even with sobs or tears, praise & worship songs will change the tide as we come to Him. And listening to Chris Tomlin's great song, well...our hearts just have to sing when we think of these words, "we are loved by the King"
... He is our everything!
And look at how you made a choice to sing and reminisce with good times & sisters in the Lord! Now that's what counts and sparks us to "move forward"...that's why I put that song as my proclamation for 2010. So that no matter how I feel, that I will keep moving forward and pressing on. That Isaiah 43:19 reminds us and of course, there are other great scriptures that encourage us when we cope with so many unknowns, He knows & we can trust Him.
Perfect song to break the chains &
press on & praise the One who sets us free. (not just a one time deal but continuously and whenever we need it)! Keep praising Deb even when you need others to hold up your arms up! So glad He turned heaviness into a garment of praise for you! EnJOY TSMSS & keep on!!!
It is such an awesome praise song; couple it with encouragement from blogging friends and you are right - it helps a great deal. I'm beginning to like Chris Tomlin's music a lot. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your heart Debbie. Praise the Lord. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love this song & love the pics too!
ReplyDeleteWylie
Dear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely one thing I have noticed in your writing...more transparency! Hard to do sometimes...when you want to be the encourager!
I love ya! God bless you, my friend.
Hi Debbie, This is one of my favorites too, although I think all of his music is incredible! Girl, know you are being upheld-fill us on how to to lift you up more.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
I just love this song. It was my ring tone for months.
ReplyDeleteChris Tomlin is a favorite singer of mine...I got his Christmas cd over the holiday and loved it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you...praising and worshiping God in the midst of our struggles helps us to overcome those struggles!
Hugs,
Beth
Hi beautiful sister! Loved this sharing today. I'm keeping you in my heart and prayers dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI was listening to Chris Tomlin's We Fall Down when I logged into your site and read your song for this day. I am going to listen to it next. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you know I love Chris Tomlin, too.
ReplyDeleteWent back and read your other post about living on feelings or faith.
My "feelings" get me down sometimes, too. Let's choose faith!!
That is so pretty, Debbie, and thanks for sharing those happy pictures. Hope you are feeling better, sweet friend. Love and Blessings ~
ReplyDeleteI love this song.
ReplyDeleteHow can I keep from singing his praise?
Isn't this true?
NOT praising God is more of a choice than praising is. Our soul longs to sing it out from the mountain-tops. Our human-ness is the thing that most often keeps that from happening.
Thanks for the reminder that I need to be praising him a LOT more.
Very nice song and the two pictures are gorgeous! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love that song!! Debbie, thanks so much for your precious words of encouragement when Daddy passed away. The card you sent was so sweet and thoughtful--I really appreciated it. I just love my friends in Bloggyland!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan
Chris Tomlin is one of the top-notch worship leaders around -- I enjoy his music greatly...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time and marvelous weather at the retreat :)
