I was at home that morning. Since I live in Phoenix, AZ we are three hours behind NY time. I had Fox Cable News on while I was getting ready for a Bible Study Fellowship leader's meeting. I watched in horror as the plane hit the second tower.
How could this be happening? I was thankful I was able to pray with the other BSF leaders as we gathered for our meeting that morning. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I've been to the city so many times and always remember the NY skyline with the Twin Towers. I've returned to NYC many times since then and each time I go I always visit this site.
I love Alan Jackson's song "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning".
We need to continue to pray for our country, now more than ever. Let us not become complacent. And let's never forget"
Amen, we must never forget.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone will ever forget. Too much was lost that day, and it was not only the lives of those in the Twin Towers although those of course were a true tragedy.
ReplyDeleteAMEN!
ReplyDeleteHugs and much love Debbie!
My prayers remain for you and I trust God will not only get you through the challenging times you are facing - but you will end up stronger and bolder in your faith!
Jill
Yes - we are remembering. (In fact, I posted the very same video on my blog, too!)
ReplyDeleteWe are remembering and praying today...
Love to you~ Jennifer
It's like it happened yesterday in my mind. I can't believe it's been 8 years already. We never should forget the lives lost. Great post my friend.

My heart still aches when I recall those tragic moments and the many that followed them. I also remember the amazing sight of millions of people on their knees throughout this land.
ReplyDeleteWhile so many remember and pray, the vast majority have all-but forgotten. So sad; almost as sad as the tragedy itself.
Blessings,
Kathleen
Amen. We must never forget.
ReplyDeleteAmen Debbie! I'm praying and remembering.
ReplyDeleteLove you.
And all of God's people said, "Amen"!
ReplyDeleteYes Debbie...Let us never become complacent. And you are so right - our country needs prayer now - more than ever.
ReplyDeleteThankful for you,
Kate
I posted my own remembrace of that day. I was happy to see Rudy Guilliani on The View this morning and he talked about a new curriculum for high school students that is available so students don't forget the significance of what happened.
ReplyDeleteAMEN! Blessings Debbie...beautiful tribute!
ReplyDeleteI love the 9/11 YouTube you posted, mine is not as wonderful to list the names of the people we remember this day & their families.
I had not heard this song & I really appreciated that you shared this. Yes, we really do need to PRAY! Pray for this nation & the world. We cannot be lukewarm! We must be on fire & rescuing the lost from the eternal flames! PRAYING with FEARLESS FRIDAY is just a start to all of us joining our voices in a heart seeking Our LORD!
Such a nice tribute. I pulled up Alan Jackson's song earlier on Youtube to hear it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. I had never heard the song before. I posted in my blog today too. Thanks again.
