Happy 4th of July!
In honor of this special day, I wanted to decorate my house ...but I didn't get around to it.
So, instead I thought I'd post a photo of how I would have liked to decorate if this was my house. (This is not my house.) I found this beautiful patriotic house on the Country Home magazine website.
I wanted to share a few items with you on this special day in our country's history. Brent Riggs published the latest edition of Serious Life Magazine; the July 4th edition.
You're going to enjoy reading this one. The cover is so patriotic.
There's a modern English rewrite of the Declaration of Independence and The Bill of Rights done by none other than Brent Riggs. How did he get so smart? It's in language you and I and your kids can understand. I'm all for that.
Did I mention that it's ...FREE?! So, go check out Serious Life Magazine.
I saw this video first on Debra's Clothed With Scarlet blog post yesterday. I almost cried as I watched it so I thought this would be the perfect video for today.
Here's Lee Greenwood singing "God Bless the USA". I hope you enjoy! Have a safe and fun 4th of July!
There's one more thing I want to share on this 4th of July. I think it's most important too. Edie of Rich Gifts Graphics & Blog Designs has generously offered the code to this Independence Day Scripture Tag. You can link to Edie's blog to put it on your own.. Edie is so talented so check her out.
I think this verse is one we should take very seriously. Many of us have taken our freedoms and the many blessings the Lord has given us in the USA for granted. Let's heed the warning and commit to follow His Word.
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting with you today dear friend. Thank you for sharing. Blessings this 4th as we celebrate our freedom in CHRIST and in this nation because of GOD.
Edie is absolutely a blessing as are you.
I'm not online on weekends but I could not miss visiting everyone for the 4th.
Blessings.
WOW! What a beautiful celebration. Love your song and all the items homouring this special day.
ReplyDeleteOne day I should be in the US and actually experience a 4th of July, and enter into the spirit of celebration and gratitude to God for how He is showing grace to this great nation!
Have a blessed day!
Hello sweet Debbie,
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that comforts me today is how FREE we are in Christ Jesus :-) Nothing can change that truth, so AMEN to what Lisa said!
Thanks for this great post! I didn't even know about Serious Life Magazine - so I'm enjoying this new discovery.
Love the graphic by Edie - thanks for sharing it. Oh, that this nation would turn to God!
Just thought I'd visit with you awhile. Drop me an email. You're on my heart.
hugs,
Vicki
Killing a few birds with one post now aren't you? LOL. I love that house! So beautiful! And the Lee Greenwood song ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes!
ReplyDeleteBlessings on you today my sweet friend. Happy Independence Day.
Kim
Enjoyed this post...the links...and the video!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie for sharing your thoughts on this year's 4th of July. I have to check out the "Serious Life Magazine". Never heard of it, but then again, I been very much absent from the blogging community over the last 6 months ...
ReplyDeleteHave a safe and blessed 4th of July.
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post for Independence Day! I saw that house and thought for a second that it was yours. :) I would decorate mine the same way too. :)
I love the Lee Greenwood song and video. It really gets to the heart.
Thanks so much for the mention of the Scripture Tag. It blesses my heart to no end that you "get it". You get the message of that scripture! Thanks for expounding on the verse.
Have a wonderful celebration today!
May God sweetly bless your holiday weekend, love you.
ReplyDeleteHi, Debbie:

Hugs,
Mary
