I'm ready to pack my bags. So, where are we going? I ask this question so I can be ready and prepared.
Will I be going to a beautiful peaceful island? I would love to sit quietly and feel the cool ocean breeze, smell the salt air and simply ...rest.
Although a vacation on a paradise island would be lovely, it doesn't last. Eventually, I have to return home.
I wrote a short post for Five Minute Friday on the word HERE. I wrote how I want to be available to God. To not be so busy and preoccupied. To listen for His voice as I spend time in His Word.
As I listened to the words of Kari Jobe's song Here, it reminded me of something very important. Listen for yourself and ...be blessed.
"Here"
Come and rest here
Come and lay your
There is refuge for you now
[Pre-Chorus:]
You'll find His peace
And know you're not alone anymore
He is near
You'll find His healing
You're heart isn't shattered anymore
He is here
[Chorus:]
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will
You will find Him here
[Bridge:]
I will rest in You
[Outro:]
You will find Him
You will find Him here
You will find Him
You will find Him here
Come and lay your
burdens down
Come and rest hereThere is refuge for you now
[Pre-Chorus:]
You'll find His peace
And know you're not alone anymore
He is near
You'll find His healing
You're heart isn't shattered anymore
He is here
[Chorus:]
Breathe in
Breathe out
You will
You will find Him here
[Bridge:]
I will rest in You
[Outro:]
You will find Him
You will find Him here
You will find Him
You will find Him here
The best place to find true rest is spending time with the Lord.
Here I find peace and healing.
Here I lay my burdens down.
Breathe in, breathe out.
There are times when a vacation on a remote island sounds awesome.
But I realize that for now HERE is where I need to be. He gives me what I need for each new day. And I'm so very thankful.
I'm linking up with Charlotte for Spiritual Sundays.
Blessings and love,
We must have been thinking the same thing this morning! She has a beautiful voice..Thank you for sharing. Sometimes we always think about the material when we need rest, but time with God will renew us more than any vacay!! Good Morning and have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteThere is always such a sweet and special grace to your writings Debbie. I enjoyed this, and I would love to be sitting in that picture! In the meantime, HERE is where we are, and I too am grateful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Had a very busy shift yesterday and amidst those chaos, I'm always grateful that we can still find "true rest" wherever we are. I could feel the strength He provides when I thought I was about to quit. I could feel the guidance when I felt so unsure...He is awesome...The piece of heaven is always in our hearts even now. Have a great week ahead sister and may His peace, love and joy always strengthen you...God bless.
ReplyDeleteWell said Debra. There is no beter place than to be one with GOd.
ReplyDeleteThank is gorgeous, my friend. Thanks so much for sharing it. Love you ~
ReplyDeleteI've read several of the Five Minute Friday posts on "here". So often, we look toward the next big trip, the next big step, the next big ministry opportunity - yet we forget that God has us "here" for His purposes and in His timing.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Debbie!
Blessings,
Joan
"Breathe in, breath out". That's really what it comes down to for me. In order to fully rest in Him, I must inhale Jesus and exhale the cares of the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blessing.
ReplyDeleteAfter doing several chores around the house and hearing the noise of the construction workers next door as they build our neighbor's house, I sat down to take a break and quiet my heart. What a blessing to come to this post, Debbie, and with your words and this song,I am reminded of His nearness. Thank you, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Debbie. We think of you each time we pass your school, which is often. How blessed those little children are to have you in their lives. What a wonderful influence you are.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
