The quote I've chosen for us to write about is:
From Spirit Rising: Tapping into the Power of the Holy Spirit by Jim Cymbala
“The fruit of the Spirit is love.” (Galatians 5:22) Love is a fruit growing within us from a supernatural source. It’s not your love, yet it is, since the Spirit works in you both to will and to do loving things that are on his mind. You never hear of an apple tree struggling to produce its fruit. As long as sap flows within the tree, apples will form and blossom. And so it is with the Holy Spirit and love. He is our life and bears the fruit – not us. That’s why he was sent to live in us.”
I encourage you to join in. Simply write a blog post including this quote and your take on it. Then link back on Tuesday with the direct URL to your message. I look forward to reading your posts or your comments.
Blessings and love,
Nice quote my friend.
ReplyDelete“The fruit of the Spirit is love.”
ReplyDeleteSome times words I have read over and over again, when seen in a new context, make me see clearly.
Wow, it's the fruit of the Spirit, not the fruit of me.
I need not deliver or achieve, only be open to the fruits of the Spirit.
Love.
I need love, to give and receive love.
I need not perform or act; it will be given me as a fruit of the Spirit.
Amen.
