A new year; new plans.
As I venture out to pursue my goals, I'm reminded that God is ultimately in control.
I pray for wisdom. I pray for guidance.
And then ...I rest in Him.
After all, He knows me and loves me. And He alone knows what's best for me.
In the midst of the unknown ...I have peace.

Yes and amen....as I start to push everyone this morning I was thinking the same thing. My flesh wants to push through and my spirit is saying be quiet. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteGood morning sweet friend! What a great Word for me today!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!!
Amen!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for these timely words. Very good reminder to "be still and know".
ReplyDeleteI needed to read this, this morning. Thank you, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteSo very true - and words of encouragement to all of us in the Sandwich Generation dealing with the issues of caring for the elderly parents in the family and helping with the grandkids. I can't tell you the number of times God has totally changed my plans or turned them inside out - but He always works them out and me out wonderfully. Have a blessed Word-Filled Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHope you have an awesome New Year full of blessings!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
andrea
What a beautiful way to start the year ... resting in His perfect plan.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you friend,
Sarah
I love your words. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteHi, Debbie
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is because of my age, but what I have come to realize is that we are pretty much always in "the midst of the unknown."
Thankfully, yes, we can still have peace. God bless you - Marsha Y.
Love this, Debbie~!

Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a rich Word from the Lord today as we look forward to 2011. I am asking God for wisdom personally and in ministry. I seek Him and want His direction. Thanks for the reminder.

Well said! "I pray for wisdom. I pray for guidance. And then...I rest in Him" Thanks for the encouragement today!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Joan
Rest. Quite a word, isn't it? I could sit long and ponder it's depths. Learning to work while resting has been my lifelong challenge. Getting the exact doses of each in right order can be trickly.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the remains of 2010's days. Hope to see you in 2011 on my next trek through ...
Kathleen
P.S. Praying for you and the wonderful opportunities that remain in the shadows.
It is so true, Debbie, that we may have the peace God brings in the midst of the unknown. You have said it so well. May you have a new year filled with the bounty of His love and blessings, according to His perfect plan.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Laurie

I love you. I'm praying for you.
praying the same thing, love what you said "and rest in Him" Sometimes when i pray for something, instead of resting in Him, i still doubt and worry and lots of what ifs in my mind. Thank you for this timely reminder.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Great photograph and powerful message, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteThis year my theme is "All is Good, because God is in control". I just hope I don't take back the control as I usually do.
Love & peace,
