It's Word Filled Wednesday when we share God's Word through a photo combined with a verse from the Bible.
I took this photo of the Lone Cypress along 17 Mile Drive. Carmel, California is one of my favorite places to visit. I love to see the beauty of God's creation. The ocean waves crash against the rocks. It's a beautiful sight to see.
This photo brought to mind the 2 Samuel verse. God is my rock and my fortress. I'm learning to take refuge in Him ...through the storms of life.

Yes, He is the rock I will forever cling to.
ReplyDeleteTHAT is it! Right in front of our eyes...the Word...how incredibly cool is it that God lays it our for us to "see" like that?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!

Where would we be without that Rock? So thankful that He is always with us - in the calm and storms.

A great photo with that wonderful verse, my friend. Love you ~
ReplyDeleteYes...when we build our lives upon Him, we will stand firm, just like the Cypress Tree at Carmel. "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." (Matthew 7:24-25)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great word for today!
Living for Him, Joan
Awesome and encouraging photo and BIble verses! Thank you so much for a sweet smile! :)
ReplyDeleteMore-and-more I travel with a camera at the ready. Not only do I never know when I might want to capture an event or person in photo-form, but I just never know when a life-lesson is going to show up in nature.
ReplyDeleteI love the scene you've captured. I love it even more that you connected it to God's word. So precious.
Hugs,
Kathleen
Love the photo!! And yes, God is our rock. He will not be moved!!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been to Carmel lately, but I do love to drive down the 17 mile drive. It's so beautiful!!
I love how there is a tree, green and thriving, on top of this solid rock, just as the Lord, our Rock and Fortress, fills us with life. I love how this verse and photo go together, and that it is a favorite place of yours, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteIn joy,
Laurie
Practicing on clinging!
ReplyDeleteGreat WFW!
ReplyDeleteI just love this verse! It is so encouraging and a comfort to know these words to be true. I love your photo.
ReplyDeleteThe verse went well with this great shot! It reminded me of my family and I's fun time camping at Central Coast, visiting Carmel also and I have the same shot. I found out you could hiked down there to actually see the Lone Cypress tree up close but we didn't have enough time as it was getting late to go back to the campground. We had a blast! God bless.
ReplyDeleteYou KNOW that I love Carmel Debbie... it's my old California roots showing through! There just isn't a prettier place.
ReplyDeleteAnd the verse... knowing that He is there, always! That knowledge provides our peace of mind and heart... that He never changes!
Hugs sister, love you!
Goregous! Our rock, Our shelter in the storm...
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite scriptures...the picture is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat is GORGEOUS. Wow!
ReplyDeleteAmen Debbie ~ HE is the Only place to run, to cling to, to find shelter no matter what the season!

It truly is a perfect picture for such a wonderful promise!!

Wonderful verse for a great photo. My family traveled through Carmel last summer (but it was too foggy the day we went) but I still fell in love with Carmel. My husband took me back so I could enjoy a few days there with some sunshine and I love it even more!
