TSMSS ~ Before the Morning

It's Then Sings My Soul Saturday when I link up with Amy of Signs, Miracles and Wonders.

I had no choice.  I had to post this song today.   I heard Josh Wilson sing it on the radio only once but I couldn't get it out of my head all week.  Has that ever happened to you?

BEFORE THE MORNING LYRICS - JOSH WILSON

Do you wonder why you have to,
feel the things that hurt you,
if there's a God who loves you,
where is He now?

Maybe, there are things you can't see
and all those things are happening
to bring a better ending
some day, somehow, you'll see, you'll see

Chorus:

Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
that you still have a reason to sing,
'cause the pain that you've been feeling,
can't compare to the joy that's coming

So hold on, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the dark before the morning

My friend, you know how this all ends
and you know where you're going,
you just don't know how you get there
so just say a prayer.

And hold on, cause there's good who love God,
life is not a snapshot, it might take a little time,
but you'll see the bigger picture

Repeat chorus

Once you feel the way of glory,
all your pain will fade to memory
once you feel the way of glory,
all your pain will fade to memory
memory, memory, yeah

Repeat chorus

Com'n, you got to wait for the light
press on, just fight the good fight
because the pain you've been feeling,
it's just the hurt before the healing
the pain you've been feeling,
just the dark before the morning
before the morning, yeah, yeah
before the morning

Don't you just love those lyrics?

Blessings and love,

  5. Such a beautiful song! Thank you for sharing. I haven't heard this one before. Hm...I'll have to see if I can find his CD at the Family Christian book store this weekend.

I listen to our local Christian radio every morning as I go to work and will have to request this one.

    Blessings & Aloha!

  6. Yes, Debbie, I do love those lyrics. They really speak to me, too. This is a great song and points us to the One who sees the whole picture when we see only part. That is comforting to me. Thanks for posting it.

    Blessings, my friend,
    Lisa

  7. This was always one of our favorite verses growing up. We used to tell each other "Be not weary in well doing"... and this song is such a great reminder.

His promise to us that someday it will all be okay and that He wants us to keep on "trusting and obeying" has become my theme song too Debbie! The great relief is that it's not up to us, and that the "more" is God's promise.

This is a wonderful choice and now I'll be singing it too!

    Love & hugs!

  11. I've never heard this song before, but, oh, how well the lyrics fits my situation now and then. Fortunately my life goes in wells, the trials comes, but they also must leave. Looking back I can say with Job, "I know my redeemer liveth."
For this day in particular the song was a good reminder.
How important your sharing became to me!
    Thank you, Debbie dear.

  14. Love the line...

    Would you dare to believe...

If we really dared to believe everything God told us about our selves, our abilities and our future, there would be nothing on earth that would stop us from glorifying Him from every corner, mountain, street and building.

for every negative thought, if we just dared to believe that the good was the truth, and not the lie we were listening to.

GREAT song to have stuck in your head.
