Thankful Thursday ~ Protection

It's Thankful Thursday and Laurie of Women Taking A Stand is our host for the month of December. Today Laurie has written about the gift of protection.

I'm so thankful for God's protection. As a child of the Most High God, I can choose to run to Him. I love this picture that illustrates Psalm 91:4a.

I find my protection ...in Him.

  • When life is uncertain and the pressures increase
  • When the "experts" forecast ongoing financial crisis and job layoffs
  • When I hear about war and families being separated
  • When I don't know what tomorrow will bring
  • When mysterious light spirals viewed in the Norway sky are unexplained or possibly a Russian missile firing
  • When God is being taken out of public schools and government
  • When tolerance replaces right and wrong

I am so thankful that I can run to God ...who is my protector.

I am thankful that He is my fortress; an ever present help in times of trouble.

I am so thankful for the Word of God that teaches me:

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

I am thankful for His protection ...as I abide in Him.

When I am scared ...I run to Him.

I was going to say the same things as Denise!

Run to Him with everything you have and don't stop! He will be the wings and shelter you need!

    Love you!

  3. OH such truth my friend. I know sometimes when I start to get overwhelmed with "life" all I have to do is take the time to stop and think about Who is ultimately in control of it all and it calms me so much.
Big hugs to you my friend.

  4. AMEN...I love that verse in Isaiah. It has always been one of my favorites. Your post brought this verse to my mind too... 1Pe 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Just doesn't get any better than that. Have a wonderful day...

  5. I echo the other amen's. God as our protection is something I have to remind myself of every day.

  6. I love this " When I don't know what tomorrow will bring"...It's always reassuring that we have God and whatever happens we will be safe in His hands.

  7. You've said it so well Debbie... this is an uncertain time in our lives in this world, but thank God that HE is a certain God! Never changes... and I'm also thankful that He knows all of these details that surround us, but has us under His wings! Nothing in this life is a shock to God, that is a real comfort to me.

    Love you,

  8. Hi Debbie! I love Psalm 91! Trying to memorize it. I remember reading a story of a woman who was carjacked and all she could say in her fear as she stared down the barrel of a gun was "feathers!" The guy freaked out and jumped out of the car. LOL! Love how God works! Merry Christmas!

  9. Oh, me too! I am truly feeling like that duckling and just want to stay there! I thank you for giving me God's grounding Word this afternoon.

Hope you're having a great day!

  11. Amen! How true! Many blessings to you!

  12. I'm always running to Him, for all things great and small. I don't know how I'd get through the day without Him.

  13. Amen, Debbie. You know, I am glad that we have someone we can trust and run to when everything else around us falls apart...I really like the cartoon :)

BTW - Isiah 41:10 will be verse for 2010. This is the 4th time I read the verse this week, in different places...

    Be blessed today and always...

  14. I love this; such beautiful truth. Thank you Debbie for your continued wisdom and encouragement. It means the world to me during this time!
