I received a phone call from Chris yesterday and she got good news! Yay God!
For those of you who don't know, my sis had been diagnosed with an almost completely detached retina several weeks ago. She had surgery but the doctor wasn't too optimistic that she would have full recovery of her sight. She had to stay home and go through a rigorous schedule of two hours upright and then two hours down 24 hours a day.
At first, this wasn't too hard as she was tired but after a while ...this was quite difficult to maintain. She couldn't read and her vision in that eye was very poor. She could barely see shadows and yet she had to try to keep the eye open so she wouldn't develop "lazy eye".
On top of this, she owns a consignment shop and is totally dependent on that income. Thankfully, she has awesome friends who stepped in to help during the past 4 or 5 weeks but Chris is eager to get back. She's a popular sanguine personality and is going nuts staying at home and not seeing her customers who have become her friends.
She was so excited when the surgeon told her he couldn't believe how much her eye had improved. Immediately, Christine told him it was because of the prayers of so many people. She told him that her sister had a blog and people from all over the world were praying. He said that whatever they were doing ...worked!
Her surgeon was amazed about her progress and expects a full recovery. And do you know what? That's what so many were praying for ... a full recovery.
How's that for the power of prayer?
So, my sister Christine and I thank you for your prayers. She has gone through much through the years. I believe in the midst of this particular trial, she has learned that ...God is faithful.
And yes ...He hears the prayers of His people.
How amazing is that?
That is just wonderful news! Ya!
ReplyDeletePraise God Debbie! That is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou and your sister really favor. Both of you are beautiful!

Beth
Thank You JESUS!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome update to read first thing Monday morning.
I'm so happy for her and love that she was able to share the power of prayer with her doctor!
Miracles still happen!
God is ALWAYS faithful!
Love you,
Jill
Oh Debbie!
ReplyDeletePraise God. I am so thrilled for Christine. I know exactly what she is going through. Daddy had the same thing. He had a special kneeling chair that he had to spend so much time in, and OMG it was awful. He to was literally exhausted. If it had not been for prayers he would have never gotten through it. Today he has wonderful vision, and is driving again.
I know Christine will be fine. She has wonderful prayer warriors praying for her eye sight, and God knows how much she needs to see, to continue from day to day. I will keep her in my prayers.
Thank you for the update Debbie.
Country hugs and love, Sherry
