“Believer . . .banish your fears; cast out all doubts; lift up the happy head; clap the exulting hands; rejoice; give thanks. Your heavenly Father cannot set you in wrong place. Your loving Savior cannot lead you in wrong paths. All is well.”
by Henry Law
When I think about banishing my fears and casting out all of my doubts, the subject of trust comes to mind. Because there's no way I can do this ...without trust.
As a believer, the object of my faith and trust is Jesus. I know that He is trustworthy. Even if people may have let me down in life, Jesus never will.
When I consider:
- He loves me
- He formed me in my mother's womb
- He knows me better than I do
- He knows my innermost desires
- He knows what's best for me
- He has my best interests at heart
- He's more interested in my character than in my comfort
So, I can rejoice and clap my hands because I can trust Him wherever He leads me. His path is good and right. So, all is well!
Well said!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great truth you shared today. This is very timely for me. Blessings, SusanD
ReplyDeleteMany of the points you made went right to my heart especially, "He has my best interest at heart." I need to remember that in regards to my children too. Thanks Debbie
ReplyDeleteAMEN! He loves me and wants the best for me and my family!

Yes! One of my favorite hymns is "Trust and Obey." I love how I can be like a little child with Him and just follow where He leads, all the while trusting that He loves me and will lead me where He wants me. What a comfort!

Isn't it comforting to know that God is in control? I know when I try to take it over, I always screw it up....
ReplyDeletethis was a perfect read for me today! :)
Hi Debbie :)
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and post!
Trust. That is something I struggle with. Especially when times are tough - speaking of that - my husband has been sick and I feel like I'm coming down with it this morning. Could you pray for healing over my hubby and I and protection over our little ones? Thank you so much :)
Hugs,
Kate :)
Amen. It really does all boil down to simply trusting God. Of course, that's easier said than done, but it really is true. Thanks for the great reminders today.
ReplyDeleteTrust is truly so key. Thanks for participating today!
ReplyDeleteTrust,
ReplyDeleteThis is a good word for me today. Thanks for your inspiration, Debbie. xo
Dear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteTo rest in trust,- it's easy when I'm managing well and life is flowing lightly,- or when I absolutely have no other option.
With me it most often is boiling down to the last.
When God puts me dangling on a cliff,
then I easily set all my trust in him, and it all ends well, after his promises.
My problem is "He's more interested in my character than in my comfort" a collision of interests.
I like comfort, safety and predictability. With God I often get two out of three.
He sometimes has to make changes in my unwilling, comfy seeking character.
To be honest when I read your post, this was the sentence that made me react with reluctance.
"He's more interested in my character than in my comfort"
I now I'm supposed to be like clay in his hands. More often I feel like stone.
Then again, the changes in marble or granite make the most wonderful and durable art.
I am a lonterm work under construction.
Thanks for an important and impact-ant post.

P.S. I must not forget to thank you for always being so nice and encouraging to me.
I value your kind words like silver.
You knew that, didn't you, my friend?
Absolutely nothing better than that!
ReplyDeleteLove ya!
YES! and I'm worth it - cause He's worth it and He made me worth it!
