Thankful Thursday ~ Encouragement

It's Thankful Thursday and we're linking up with Lynne at Spiritually Unequal Marriage
It really helps me to write these Thankful Thursday posts because I'm on the lookout all week.  It's really a matter of perspective.  And there's always something to be grateful for.

I'm so thankful for:
  • Meeting my blogging friend Barbie of My Freshly Brewed Life and her two friends
  • Receiving a beautiful Norwegian cookbook from Sonja of bits & pieces and her sis Carol Joy
  • The opportunity to have lunch with my prayer partner Helen
  • A surprise airline ticket from my friend Terri to attend my niece's wedding in Florida
  • The air conditioning has worked all week without problems
  • Spending time online with Joan Davis of The Beauty in His Grip (I recommend that you follow this one)
  • Receiving an email from Martha, my neighbor at my previous home.  She wrote that I was missed and invited me to attend their monthly coffees.
  • My Uncle Bob sent me a precious note tellling me he was proud to be my uncle.  It doesn't get any better than that.
You know encouragement is a wonderful gift.  And I've been blessed by so many of you and I really appreciate that.

Iris of Grace Alone and Laced with Grace and I had the opportunity to speak on the phone this past weekend.  Just hearing her voice was an encouragement to me.

So take those opportunities to encourage one another.  Life is hard enough.  When we join together and pray for one another and love one another ...it makes life sweeter and more enjoyable.

Blessings and love,

This is a wonderful list...I'm off to count my blessings now : ) We've had a week of car issues here so I think a list is in order. I love all the ways you were blessed and its reminded me to send a note to someone who has been on my mind. Have a lovely weekend!

There is so much to be thankful for if we simply open our eyes and see what the Lord is doing. He is at work all around us! I want to thank YOU for all of your encouragement - over the last few days especially! God has blessed me with you as my new friend and sister-in-Christ.

Each time I come to your blog, Debbie, I am encouraged by what you share, and I know this is because you are a godly woman whose words are chosen to bring God glory. Your list shows that it is the relationships in your life that you are most thankful for; what a blessing!
Joy and love to you,

Very good. One morning last week I started the day with just thanking God for all the simple things we have each day...air, being able to walk, the vacuum cleaner, the dishwasher, the washing machine, the mop (I am not on my hands and knees), the A/C (which went out during the 102 degree weather), my clothes, soap...it was amazing what all I could thank Him for by the end of the day...all my have nots were far from my mind.
Thanks for the reminder...so glad you have had such an awesome week!!!!

And now guess what song is in my heart?? "Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done." So good to have a thankful heart, because, as a "very Blue Berry" from Veggie Tales once sang, "A thankful heart is a happy heart." Oh goodie, now I have TWO very happy songs going in my mind at once! This is a good thing indeed! Thank you again! :)

Thank you for reminding me that there are blessings all around me. I need to open my eyes and realize them. I think maybe this would be good to participate in next week. You are a blessing to me, and I am so thankful we got to meet in person!

Dear Debbie,
Today I am particularly thankful for my blog friend Debbie.
Your tried faith is an inspiration to me.
Peter1:
6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

This was a GREAT post Debbie and I just couldn't agree more. Encouragement from friends warms your heart and makes soo much seem worthwhile. It is tiny glimpses of His touch. It took me a while I will admit, but at 55 I really have figured out that a thankful heart is a happy one, and there is ALWAYS much to be thankful for. Have a wonderful week-end...HUGS
