Laundry seems like such a chore. Every week for years I've done laundry. What I've discovered though is ...it's all about attitude.
When I was a young bride, I used to walk to the laundromat with my cart on wheels. The guy who owned the place used to tell me he never saw anyone enjoy doing laundry.
Through the years, I continue to do my laundry. I love the smell of freshly laundered clothes. Instead of mindlessly doing a mundane chore, I find I enjoy completing this weekly task. Maybe that's part of the secret of not minding laundry. I only have to do it once a week. :)
But I also remind myself that whatever I do ...do it as unto the Lord.
"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." ~Colossians 3:17

Blessings and love,
Thankful for your joyful attitude! I'd do well to remember this with my own laundry.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are my FMF neighbor this week!
Givings Thanks - peace and prayers
ReplyDeleteWhen I was doing laundry when all of my kids were young it truly was an unending, draining chore that I dreaded...and I did it almost every day! These days I don't mind it at all, in fact, I kind of like it, haha...Besides the fact that there is just two of us now, I also have an indoor utility room which makes it soo much easier than the garage where my washer and dryer were in the past. I like the productive sound of the washer and dryer going, LOVE the fresh smell, and enjoy the simplicity, Enjoy your week-end Debbie!
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie
ReplyDeleteThis is so true of life in general as well; the attitude. It amazes me how we can make ourselves very unhappy with just the way we think. You can sit and mope about life's misfortunes or you can believe the truth that our Pappa will work everything that happens in our lives for His glory and our good.

It's all about attitude! We can turn almost anything into something more enjoyable if our attitude is corrected. I love the smell of fresh laundry and even hang a few things outside on a small line I have just to get an even fresher smell. A bed smells so wonderful when the sheets have been dried in the open air.
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Lovely
ReplyDeleteThe word "laundry" first provokes a near whine ...do I have to???
ReplyDeleteBut then I remember how nice it smells, how useful folding it and putting it away feels, and how good "all done" makes me fell. Then it is, "where is something I can wash?" :)
Happy fall to you, Debbie.
Doing laundry isn't too bad...but it's the folding and putting it all away that gets "old"! lol But, you are right...it is all in the attitude!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joan
