A Powerful Testimony

Source
This morning I was watching a telecast of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.  It was a special of their CD "I'm Amazed".  I love to listen to this choir.  I've been to the Brooklyn Tabernacle several times to worship when I returned to New York.  All I can say is that I feel like it's a foretaste of a heavenly choir.  People of all colors and nations united in their love for Jesus.  What a blessing!

This morning was no different.  During several of the songs, they had filmed testimonies of individuals who were in the choir.  So many come from backgrounds of drug and alcohol addiction.  Many were rejected by their fathers and were always looking for love in the wrong places.

This morning a beautiful young woman shared about her upbringing by hippy parents who were into sex, drugs and rock and roll.  She described her chronic depression and her drive for love and acceptance that never seemed to be satisfied.  She tried many philosophies, New Age, yoga, self help books, meditation and affirmations along with an assortment of religions.  Nothing satisfied and her depression continued.  She was invited to the Brooklyn Tabernacle and immediately sensed something different.  She realized her need for a Savior and accepted Jesus into her heart.  She said that she finally found what was missing in her life.  She almost looked like a different person compared to the photos from earlier years.  Her ready smile and peaceful countenance displayed such joy.

I love to hear testimonies like this.  I hope you take the time to watch the complete video.  All I can say is it will bless you.

I'm linking up with Charlotte for Spiritual Sunday.

Blessings and love,

  1. What a wonderful way to end this Sunday. I don't know anything that blesses my own heart like a good testimony of how God changes lives. And I also love the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir... every time I hear them. I want to visit one day too.

    Hugs!

  3. I was both happy and sad to read this. Happy because it's so good! And because I'm going to be in NYC soon!

But sad because I looked at the times of BT's services and it doesn't look like any of them will fit in with our schedule. :-( Unless something changes...which is always possible with God! Praying you have a blessed week, Debbie. Love you.

  6. Not only is she beautiful outside, but most of all is her "inside" now. And it shines! Oh, the power of the Lord! and only by His power we are truly changed! Glory be to God!

The song from the choir gave me goosebumps. And it made me imagine standing next to you and other bros. and sisters in Christ, doing the same thing in His place, worshiping, giving Him the praises and thanks that He alone deserves!!! Have a great week ahead sister Debbie. God bless. Thank you for wonderful testimonies like these, all because of the Testimony given to us by our heavenly Father!
