GO
Sometimes I think listening has become an old art form. People gather together. Conversation ensues. But distractions often occur. Instead of having a real conversation we:
- chat
- text
- take photos to post on our favorite social network
- tell people where we are
One of the true gifts we can give to another is to truly ...listen.
Forget about all the advice you want to give that person. Forget about thinking of the next clever thing you will say to them. Look into their eyes. Give them your undivided attention. Simply listen with your heart.
Will you choose to offer this gift of love to another?
STOP
Blessings and love,
Such true words!! It's a reminder we all sadly need. Being present and undivided attention does not happen anymore. We definitely need to be more aware and fully listen. We have the power to change the tides back to authentic community and listening. Fantastic reminder today! Blessings! Here from FMF :)
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie
ReplyDeleteThis is my thoughts exactly! Listening is sort of an ancient art. I think with all the gadgets people communicate with now days, they have forgotten how not just to listen, but also to really hear!
Much love XX
Mia
Yes and AMEN my friend. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. There is nothing like being listened to, and nothing as rewarding as listening to another's story.
ReplyDeleteYes! I hear you! Hugs, Deb- you are right on!
ReplyDeleteso when the good Lord, tells us HE loves us - we are to busy to hear - maybe that's why He helps artists write songs like "Listen" by the Beatles - hopefully we make the connection - thanks Debbie - very nice 5 minute post. Peace
ReplyDeleteamen friend!

Forgetting about what *we* want to say--that's excellent advice and a true pathway to really listening. Thanks, Debbie. I'm listening to you! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo true Debbie, listening is almost a lost art. I am freshly reminded to do better and listen more fully. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a timely message. Thanks. Have a blessed weekend:)
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie I just couldn't agree more. I have been guilty of this too. We are always in a hurry it seems. There are always distractions. But sometimes NOTHING is a bigger blessing than to have someone REALLY listen. I have been reminded to try harder at this. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this, it blessed me so much! Debbie, you have a true gift for reaching people!
ReplyDeleteSo true Debbie! My husband always says that is why God gave us TWO ears and one mouth. ;o)
ReplyDeleteBless you!
Beth
"Thinking of the next clever thing you will say to them" is the main thing I struggle with. God has been convicting me of this more and more. Thank you for reminding to continue to work on this.
