My song choice for Then Sings My Soul Saturday is a song by Josh Wilson called "Before the Morning". The words have much meaning to me, especially as I've been going through a difficult season in life.
Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you where is He now
Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you've been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory, memory, memory
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still got a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you've been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still got a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you've been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
Come on you've gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
Before the morning
Happy Saturday!

I have loved this song since it came out...thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTo dare to believe...even when it looks dark, pushing back the clouds with our praise...I did that yesterday as the clouds seemed to be rolling in in my thoughts and circumstances.
Amen..
ReplyDeleteCome on you've gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
I love that song! It reminds me of the old song we used to sin...'hold on my child, joy comes in the morning'... it's the truth and it's His promise to each of us.

Good song, good word. And, yes,
ReplyDeleteI dare to believe in the face
of any bleak circumstances.
He is Lord.
Blessings,
Sandy

ReplyDeleteLove this song! =) It's such an encouraging song =)
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend was blessed!
Walking on promises, day by day is the only safe way to go.
ReplyDeleteI admit it can be a challenging way,but then there are no shortcuts in the Kingdom of God.
You have passed the challenges from last year with flying colors, I guess looking back, you'll witness, you never were alone, not for a single day.
Life must be lived forwards, but can only be understood backwards.
God bless you and let you feel his presence every day.

Debbie - So true - "IF we don't give up" - and that is just what the enemy tries to get us to do.
