It's another Friday Photo Flashback when I link up with Alicia of More Than Words.
This pre-digital photo probably dates back to 1961 or 1962. I think it was taken on Easter Sunday given the hat on my head. My mom used to like to dress us up. :)
I love my little sister Christine's pocket book. In case you didn't know, that's what we call purses in New York. My brother Steve is going to kill me for posting this photo as it will also go to Facebook. This is payback Steve. Btw, I do not have smelly feet!
Blessings and love,

I love this picture. You guys are so cute. I know what a pocket book is. Does that mean I am old or cultured?
ReplyDeleteCute picture, Debbie. 1962 was the year my son was born. I have pictures of Carol taken at Easter in 1963. She had on a hat, gloves and was holding a "pocket book". I remember when everyone called them pocket books.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Charlotte
Goodness you are cute!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Jill
What a cute picture,
ReplyDeleteand a wide culture gap.
I'm referring to the hat you are wearing.
It's soo sweet and so very American.
I may have seen similar hats on grown ups in glossy magazines, dressed for weddings, but never ever on a young girl.
I find the three Sumstad siblings absolutely adorable, the happy, smiling brother included.
Debbie, you are a thoroughbred, the air filled with toothpaste, deodorant and detergent from the snow white socks.
Brothers can sometimes be very jealous.
Such a cute picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm 19 and I know what a pocket book is (so Karen, if you feel old saying it, then I must be old and cultured, too ;)). Well... then again, I live next door to NY =).
ReplyDeleteNeat picture! So cute - your little sister is like: Is this picture over already? I like the simplicity of your dress =)
Have a blessed week!
Debbie:
ReplyDeleteSomewhere in that vast drawer of pictures, is my matching picture to this... C.J. and I in hats and my brothers hair slicked down. I'll have to find it, you will smile just like I am at yours right now. So cute! Our moms must have loved hats!
Hugs sis!
CRACK ME UP!! I love paybacks, don't you?? The picture - just beyond adorable! Everybody looks so spiffy ~ what a treasure. Hope you're doing well and have a great weekend ~ ♥
ReplyDeleteI can tell you and I are from the
ReplyDeletesame era! I remember having to
endure wearing those kind of hats
for Easter too. My mom was definitely
a hat person, wearing one most every
time we went to church. Me, I just
wanted to hurry home and get back
into my old jeans and play ball.
Hugs,
Sandy
How adorable. I remember those Easter dress up clothes! lol
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Sibling rivalry! I miss that. My brother is gone now. He past very young, 44. Stupid ass didn't heed the warning signs. He never did. I'm so mad at him for leaving me, but I love him too! I love your pics too! Look at your Bro, LOL, no teeth! omg Here comes a song. Every time I see kids with no front teeth how come everyone sings that stupid song! All I want for Christmas... blah-blah-blah. Have a great weekend Debbie. By the way my bride doll. LOL It had boobies. I guess it being the first one with boobs everyone got a kick out of it. I have an old film of my Mom making fun of it. HUGS, DOLLY
ReplyDeleteThis is surely a treasure! Of a beautiful memory among siblings. Have a great weekend and God bless you sister.
ReplyDeleteLove it! You all look so adorable!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous picture by all means. I love this kind of old pictures!
ReplyDeleteJust so precious!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this picture. How adorable you all look and I would give anything to know what's in the purse at her age. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend my friend.
Kim
That's a great picture. Doylene
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cool photo, Debbie :) Your sister looks like she is a natural model.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this precious moment with us.
Love & peace,
<>< Iris
LOL! I love your brother's toothy grin! You all look so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for my irregular visits lately... have been working my finger to the bone (literally! lol) doing that huge job. Remember the one I mentioned, so we could fix up Bonnie's chewing and scratching spree? Ackk!! Well, the job is completed, praise the Lord! Now, I just need a good nights sleep after 5 days of hard labour lol.
Love and hugs to you my friend...
Oh I love this!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, being from NY I still say pocket book (SMILE).
Love you much!
Hi Debbie! I love seeing how your mother dressed you all up. You were always dressed to the nine's!! So cute!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I apologize for stopping by so late, my friend!!!
I love your family photos! And how sweet is your little sister holding her pocket book! Our older daughter was much older than the rest of her classmates when her first teeth finally came out, so she was quite ready to smile and show her missing teeth! Love your outfits that you all are wearing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
This is so much like many of my old photos. I think that hat is the kind that "Squeezes shut" on your head and hurts really bad by the time church was over!!!!!
