Time Alone

Time alone?  Is that something you crave?  Or are you the kind of person who would go crazy being alone?

I had the opportunity to spend time alone this past week.  A friend offered me the keys to her mountain home in Flagstaff.  I couldn't wait to get there.

Greg couldn't get away so I went alone.  I brought my Bible, journal and two books.  And believe me, that's all I needed.  I went for long walks in cooler weather.  It was quiet and peaceful and ...just what I needed.

I hope to share some of what I learned over the next week.  With no interruptions and leaving the busyness behind, I was able to have long prayer times.  I prayed for many of you during this time.

I hope you'll check back this week as I share some of what God has been teaching me.

Blessings and love,

  1. Beautiful...I think I would have trouble being alone, because I never have been...LOL Even if my husband takes the kids for a few hours I am lost with just myself...and yes, I need to learn, but don't know when the opportunity will present itself.
So glad you had this wonderful opportunity and that you met with God...awesome

I'm so glad to see you back again, but even more glad for the days you had at that most beautiful home! I can't wait to hear what you learned from being there. I was praying that it would clear your mind and heart, and give you peace during this time of fresh perspective!

    Hugs Debbie!

  6. What a blessing. A lovely home and cooler mountain weather. Then to top it off with plenty of time with the Lord, it doesn't get any better than that. So glad you went. Hugs, Marty

  7. So glad you had the time you needed - and what a gorgeous home...not bad "digs" to get away to:) I'm not sure if I would really enjoy being alone. There are certainly times I THINK I would like it...but should I really have the opportunity, I wonder how long it would actually be enjoyable??

Sure do know that I would love to visit Flagstaff, though!! Have been through but would love to stay for a visit:) Beautiful.

  8. I definitely crave time alone! Too much, probably. I'm so glad you had that time. I'll look forward to hearing what you and the Lord talked about.

I wish it had worked out for me to see you while I was in Phoenix! If I ever get back there, I'll have to schedule better. I pretty much turned all the scheduling for this trip over to my hubby (which is SO unlike me--but I was exhausted). And he did a great job.

Your offer to share a cup of coffee and pray together really touched my heart more than you know.

    Love you,
    Lisa

  15. I'm so glad that you were able to have a special time alone. Just wonderful how the Lord says "Come with me by yourself to a quiet place and get some rest." Rest in music means "pause." So you were able to rest your heart and mind, and also reflect on Him...and He was able to speak to you. That is a special thing! Will look forward to hearing what He whispered in your ear. And may I just say a big THANK YOU for being willing to share these wonderful lessons too! Hugs to you too! :)
