It's Thankful Thursday and I'm linking up with Iris of Grace Alone.
Do you ever find yourself waiting?
- Waiting in traffic
- Waiting in a doctor's office
- Waiting on line in the grocery store
- Waiting for a check to arrive
- Waiting for a phone call
- Waiting for news
But today as I'm still waiting, I'm making the choice to be thankful.
Yes, I said it ...thankful even in the waiting.
Because I made the decision to ...trust my Heavenly Father.
His timing is perfect. I've prayed and prayed and prayed. And right now His answer is simply ...to trust Him.
I'm so thankful for the lessons the Lord is teaching me in this season of waiting.
I've been so blessed by good friends, especially many of my praying blogging friends. You are all so precious to me. I've learned so much from many of your blog posts. And I love it when I receive an email of encouragement from you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So, I'll continue to wait, work and ...be thankful.
Blessings and love,
This is probably one of the hardest things for me to do in real life and where the Lord is concerned. Great thoughts for today!
ReplyDeleteWaiting is so hard. But it's so great what we can learn as we wait.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! ...brings to mind the song: "While I'm waiting" by John Waller (The song from Fireproof). May the Lord strengthen you by His grace as you trust Him and continue to wait upon Him!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and so true! It's hard to be thankful while waiting, but it is worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lifetime of waiting, isn't it? The entire creation waits ... and groans. God's people "look up", and we await His return. From the cradle to the grave, we wait in heaven's parlor for we are not of this world.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Debbie. And I KNOW how personal your waiting is. Praying it's filled with joy.
Hugs,
Kathleen
Such a wonderful post, praying for you as you wait.
ReplyDeleteLove you Debbie!
ReplyDeleteIt is in the waiting that we see the heart of God - sustaining us by His ever present grace, love and strong hand to lift us up!
Hugs,
Jill
Another beautiful post Debbie.
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me of a powerful book I read during a long season of waiting entitled, "When the Heart Waits" by Sue Monk Kidd. Her spiritual memoir was a blessing to read ... honest and healing. She offers reassurance and rekindles hope for a better tomorrow!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim
Sometimes waiting makes you slow down. That is always a bonus.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are waiting with real grace! Waiting is one of the most difficult things for me. But something you said stuck out to me...
ReplyDelete"His timing is perfect. I've prayed and prayed and prayed. And right now His answer is simply ...to trust Him."...
You HAVE prayed and prayed, so we already know He has heard every prayer, you've expressed your heart fully to the one who already knows it, so for right now, His answer IS... TRUST ME!... it's what we do when we've done all we know to do... it's also what He loves!
Very wise words Debbie. Another drop in the "trust & obey' bucket!! :)
Love you!
Sonja
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThere was a time near the end of my journey in the Valley (which I wrote about last month) when I was waiting...waiting. I knew that God was working, but felt tired. One morning when reading the Bible, I "just so happened" to come across the following verse:
"This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed." (Habakkuk 2:3)
I cannot even tell you how much of an encouragement that was for me! I hope that in your waiting, you will find encouragement in it as well. All things work together...in His time.
Blessings to you, Debbie! I'm so glad that we have been getting to know each other!
Living for Him, Joan
Interesting post. Something to think about.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. Something to think about.
ReplyDeleteOh how we can all identify with waiting. Soo hard. I struggle with it so everyday. (especially recently) But it is what life is very often about isn't it? How wonderful to KNOW that His timing is perfect and He has it all in His control. Thanks for your words of wisdom here. HUGS, Debbie
ReplyDeleteWaiting is always the hardest thing to do Debbie. It takes control completely out of our hands.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you as you continue to trust Him and give Him the glory.
Love & hugs,
Beth
great thing to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteI love what you wrote here Debbie. Yes to every word.
ReplyDeleteMuch of our lives are lived out in the waiting room, and that is where we are shaped and melted and molded and refined.
THank you, thank you for this post!

Oh friend, I absolutely love the picture of Jesus kissing the little girl's hair. So perfect! In the waiting, knowing that He holds our hands.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Sara
Waiting and trusting God are character builders, aren't they Debbie? So glad to be on this journey with blogger friends, also. I'm grateful for our friendship.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mary
Beautiful. God bless you in your waiting.
ReplyDeleteThanking God along with you. I know how ever and in whatever way He chooses to answer our prayers, ultimately it's always good, pleasing and perfect. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteThank God for enabling you to be thankful while waiting upon Him. Waiting is sometimes very difficult and I can identify with your struggles. I need to learn to be thankful too as God is in control and He loves us dearly. Thanks for this precious reminder.
