Word Filled Wednesday ~ Psalm 23

It's Word-Filled Wednesday and I'm linking up with Lori of All You Have to Give.

I love the Grand Canyon.
I took this photo on a visit several years ago.
The beauty and majesty of God's creation is on display at the Grand Canyon.
The contrasting colors are awesome.
But as I gaze out and downward I see the valleys below.
It reminds me of Psalm 23:4.

The valleys of life can be challenging.
I tend to struggle with fear and anxiety when dealing with the unknown.
I like to plan and then work my plan.
But walking by faith requires ...trust in God.

As I continue studying Ann Spangler's book "Praying the Names of God", I learn who God is.
I've learned that God is trustworthy and faithful.
I'm in His capable hands even when I walk through the valleys.
I know He is with me.
So I choose to continue to ...walk by faith.

Blessings and love,

  1. I just got home from meeting with a lovely woman from our church. What is interesting is that we were sharing some things from our lives...and I talked about the 23 Psalm. In particular, I was talking about verse 4! Yes, the valleys in life can be challenging, but our Lord promises that when we trust in Him, he will not leave us there. He will take us through.

  5. How I can identify with this post. I too struggle so with the "unknowns" and changes in this life that there is just no escape from. I have to walk (slowly) day by day TRUSTING Him to be forever faithful. And He always is! PRAISE GOD...Have a wonderful day Debbie....HUGS

  6. The blessing of His presence and the knowledge that no valley I walk through is a surprise to Him has taken me through many dark valley and I feel blessed to be in a sunny place beside still waters......but on the way home...there will be a valley...the valley of the shadow of death...but it will only be a shadow to me for it will be my entrance to eternity.

  10. Beautiful pic! The shadow in the valley is darker yet it's comforting that there is no deeper valley that His light cannot reach. I love Psalm 23 because it reminds me of His protection we need in this life's journey. Blessings.

  16. The "unknown" is my specialty.... something I have always struggled with...once again we've struck a similar chord! I remember years ago when my husband had just gotten his pilot's license and we flew off for a weekend to San Francisco, I looked down at those cavernous mountains and held on for dear life but as I looked up and ahead I could see our destination and instantly started relaxing...all to say that is an every single day journey....keep looking UP, past the "unknown", right to HIM who knows ALL. Thanks for bringing up that CHOOSE word again Debbie...to walk by FAITH....the only way!!!

  27. Hi Debbie,

The verse is one of my favorites. It is so comforting, because walking in the valley of the shadow of death is a reality for all of us day after day.

What a comfort it is to know that we need not fear. God is by our side.

I love to pray the names of God. Will check out that book.

Thank you too for following my blog.

It is an encouragement to me.

    Love
