Then Sings My Soul Saturday ~ Not That Far From Bethlehem

I almost forgot that it was Saturday so I'm a bit late in getting up my Then Sings My Soul Saturday post.

I chose a song called "Not That Far From Bethlehem". This song is sung by three young gals from my church; Jamie, Carol and Julie. It was taped at my church so ...I hope you enjoy.

It doesn't seem like Saturday. I guess with Christmas Day falling on a Friday, I got a bit messed up. But I hope to do some blog hopping today and sing along with others who are participating in Then Sings My Soul Satuday. You can link up or visit others by going to Amy's Signs, Miracles and Wonders.

Happy Saturday and thank you for visiting Heart Choices!

  1. Wow! Those gals sing SO wonderfully. They sound as good as the version I have on a CD. What a blessing to have them in your church.

And that song is beautiful as well. Thank you for having it sung to us this morning!

  3. Blessings Debbie...You're not late at all. Amy just posted TSMSS & some of us have been waiting all night(lol).

Beautiful trio of women! What a blessing your church is and they are to your church & the musicians! Beautiful! I had never heard this song! That's another great thing about TSMSS! Pure delight to hear angels like this sing.

"We're not that far from Bethlehem
Here all our hope and joy begins
For in our arms we'll cherish him
We're not that far, not that far from Bethlehem
    Let us celebrate
    As the Christmases go by
    Learn to live our days
With our hearts near to the child
    Ever drawn, ever close"

I was hoping to highlight the part that touched my heart, but as I found the lyrics and read them again...well, as you can see...it was quite alot of the song...but I was focused on the CHERISH with our hearts drawn near to THIS CHILD, Our LORD & SAVIOR, Light of the world!!! Hallelujah!

I was reading more of your delightful posts this past week and all the wonderful ways you celebrate together with others! You definitely are young at heart and spirit & looks also (who you kidding?)You are young looking!
Beautiful heart and Heart Choice once again! Thank Debbie!

  8. Writing you from Abby's hospital room. She is still sleeping after her sedation, so I can't listen to the video.

Just wanted to say thanks for praying and for asking others too.
