Then Sings My Soul Saturday ~ Emmanuel

It's Then Sings My Soul Saturday when I link up with Amy of Signs, Miracles and Wonders.

I had the opportunity to watch a movie on TV yesterday called "The Perfect Gift". Emmanuel (You Are With Me) is from this movie and sung beautifully by Mark Smeby. The movie dealt with a broken family, "religion", people trying to take Jesus and the term Christmas out of this special day.

I don't know if Peggy of Amazing Grace will be joining us this week for TSMSS. But I wanted to say that she's been on my heart and on my mind. So, if you read this Peggy, know that I'm praying for you!

Christmas should be a time filled with joy because ...of the birth of our Savior.

But for many, it can also be a difficult time especially if they've experienced painful times and loss of loved ones.

My heart goes out to Melanie of Bella Mella and the loss of her precious son Andrew. So many have been praying for him.

And Loren of The Magoo News who just lost her dad after a long battle. We've been praying for him too.

Let us remember each one of them as this Christmas will be a difficult one for their families. I'm so thankful for the blogging community and how we can each encourage one another.

  4. Bless you Debbie!!!

Thanks so much for the prayers! Of course, I have not seen "The Perfect Gift" and though this made me cry, what you wrote and the song... I know that "Emmanuel" is the PERFECT GIFT.

Just having God with me keeps me going and I'm sure that is true for the rest, who I join you in praying for the Comforter to surround them too! I know that without HIM, the heaviness I feel would be more intense than I could bear. Bless you and Cathy (who emailed me your link). Heart breaks & grief are not the easiest to deal with during this JOYful season but knowing Emmanuel, is here as the Wonderful Counselor, is what holds me together with the prayers...thank you!!! I'm still believing & holding unto this:

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

    my Christmas verse...emphasis on Counselor...or Comforter...& PEACE!
Peace be with you all. God bless!

  6. I agree Debbie. There seems to have been so many who have gone to be with the Lord lately. I just met a man who said his wife died last December 30th. It makes Christmas a sad time for so many. :o(

I pray each will feel God carrying them.

    Love you & Merry Christmas!

  13. Can you believe that I am just now getting to the computer? John has been studying all week for a test (he is taking it now), and between him and Joseph, I hardly get a chance to sit in this seat....WIM (ha, have I created a new....?...hm, what do you call them?)
The holidays can be hard, and I am trying to keep it a bit more simple this year. As you know, I even have a Charlie Brown tree, not too fancy this year. I love it!
    Love you, h.

  15. Video makes me want to cry. It's cool. Mark Smeby portrayed the emotions of the song so well. Here are positive thoughts for Peggy, Melanie and Loren. Peggy always leave encouraging comments on my TSMSS posts and to think she's the one having a difficult time. Thanks for a wonderful post. Debbie. Happy holidays to you and your family.

  17. My mom passed away several years ago, and it was in August, not December, but we both love Christmas so much, this is the hardest time for me, not her birthday or the anniversary of her death.

I think it is because I want to be able to share my kids joy with her and I can't.

    Great song.

  18. Thanks for dropping by my blog. This is such an amazing song and I really love it. I'd really like to see the movie, too. Thanks for sharing this song and thanks, too, for reminding us of those who are hurting this holiday season.

This past Monday, little 2 y/o Bryson Ross lost his life after falling into a swimming pool. His mom, Sheila, is a blogger and posts regularly on Twitter. My heart just breaks for this family. Please keep them in your prayers as well.

May you all hold your family members just a little closer and tell them you love them a little more often.....and may you experience the love of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, this wondrous Christmas Season.

    Blessings,

    Teresa <><
