I decided to link up with Lynnette of Dancing Barefoot ...on Weathered Ground in a meme about getting to know you. Since I missed Wednesday's Walk down Memory Lane, I figured this one would be fun. If you know Lynnette (and I only recently started getting to know her) she is funny, quirky and ...totally open and honest.
She thought it would be fun to pretend we're sitting on her front porch and sharing and encouraging one another. Our lives get so busy and so for many of us, our social interaction tends to be online. It would be nice to sit in a comfortable porch chair, sip a cold iced tea and engage in ...some girl talk.

Lynnette asked us to share 10 things about you that are charming, interesting, and fun.
Here's my list:
- I love the thought of simple living and watch the Waltons Thanksgiving movie every year. I also love Jan Karon's Mitford Series and have read every one of them.
- I'm a city girl but I often ...crave the country. Growing up in New York and now living in the heart of Phoenix, it's not country but maybe I could just visit?
- I've always daydreamed a lot! When I was a kid, I imagined my future life filled with my loving husband, a houseful of children, a white picket fence, a dog ...you get the picture. At least I have a loving husband, right?
- I am such a romantic. My mom always told me I was in love with love. I love candles, soft music, Sense and Sensibility, Michael Buble, fireplaces, beautiful table settings, bubble baths.
- I love people but I always need alone time. I'm equally outgoing and yet ...introspective.
- I've grown to love being organized. My house is organized except for my home office, which is where I spend most of my day. Go figure!
- I love to read several books at once. It depends on my mood.
- I absolutely LOVE the ocean but live in a desert. I LOVE the sound of rain and live in a dry desert. But I do have CD's with the sounds on them. I know it's not the same.
- I've kept journals for years and blogging has become an extension of that.
- I LOVE "So You Think You Can Dance" TV show. I'm amazed at how the contestants grow so quickly with the discipline and training of great choreographers.
Now, don't forget to stop by Lynnette's blog. You can join in too and link up with us. It's been fun.
Oh sweet one, I journal too. Never before letting people take a peek into my heart and writings, When I started my little blog a few months ago, it was the Lord leading me out of the nest. I was a bit hesitant, but have been encouraged beyond belief to live my life out loud by dear friends such as you.

You can always come visit me! I'm 5-1/2 hours away from you & technically not in the country, but it feels a little like it. I wish we had acres & acres of land & vista, but we have lots of trees, beautifuly blue sky, & are so close to the mountains.
ReplyDeleteYou did share a number of charming things about yourself. Thank you! :)
Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI like many of the same things you like. I'm so glad I got acquainted with you in person. You're a dear.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
Romantic- me too. A hopeless one!
ReplyDeleteI loved your list and finding you through Lynette's blog. My dream is to write a series like Mitford but of course my own, based in the Adirondack Mountains.
ReplyDeleteHey girl, Loved the list! It's so fun getting to know you in depth. Also loved that you love So You Think You Can Dance-o.k. so who do you think will win tonight? I love Kayla because she's a Colorado girl but I think maybe Brandon should get it. I love how Nigle has jumped up twice lately and started screaming like Mary.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening.
Here from Lynette's Blog. I love the ocean and live in the middle of a cattle land. (well, not exactly I live in town, but cattle land surrounds us). We do live on the Missouri River, but it just isn't the same as the oceans roar. So glad to meet you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I love the country too! I grew up on a 40 acre farm and now my hubby and I live in the outskirts of a city. It's not a big city, so we like it. :) It's great to be able to visit my family though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!

Dear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI came to find Memory lane, but this Stroll on the porch was just as fine.
I love the honest way you display your inner thoughts and qualities.
I easily can relate to the romantic side of being a woman.
Being 60 years and still weeping with Scarlett O'Hara, that's me.
I think being romantic is more of an attitude to life than an age.
Love and dreams never die. Or at least - they only slumber when the stress of life takes over.
Likewise the ssafety in being a saved child of God.
Grace is such a nice expression in itself.
I hope we for all time can live there.
From Felisol
This really is a wonderful idea! I linked up with Lynette, but didnt get to do a post of my ten things, this time...
ReplyDeleteI think one of my favorite things on a blog friend's blog are the posts that have these moments where I can learn a little more about them.
I enjoyed reading your list.
Blessings & Aloha!
Bless your heart. You need to move to the beach girl. I love water too and I rarely get to see the ocean though I'm on two hours away. Silly I know.
ReplyDeleteI am not as organized as I'd like. Sigh.
Isn't it funny how our lives rarely turn out like we envisioned?
Bless you sweet friend. I enjoyed learning more about you!
Hello...I'm visiting from Lynnette's "porch". I enjoyed your list. Thanks for sharing your porch with us!
ReplyDeleteHello, visiting from Lynette's porch, nice to meet you!
