It's Five Minute Friday when I link up with The Gypsy Mama. We receive a one word writing prompt each week and get to write for five minutes flat. Our word for today is RED.
GO
Red just happens to be my favorite color. When I moved cross country to Phoenix, I drove my red corvette. I was in my twenties and single, after all.
Red seems like such a bold color for a gal who isn't all that bold. But in many ways it symbolizes much about me.
I was the child who was forced to sit on the sidelines because of a heart defect. I was the child who walked door to door with my mother raising money for the American Heart Association as we carried our red signs. I was the adult who became a cardiovascular nurse.
Red to me is passion. And I am passionate about Jesus, my family, the many people I took care of over the years as a nurse, and the children I get to work with every day.
Yes, red is my favorite color.
STOP
Blessings and love,

What a fun post.... You'll have to share pics of you and your red corvette! :-) Love the post and love your passions. Happy Friday!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Claim your red, and your bold!
ReplyDeleteA red corvette, now THAT is cool!!! How amazing that you became a nurse as an adult!
ReplyDeleteYou look really great in red my friend. What happened to the red corvette, and what color car do you have now?
ReplyDeleteRED definitely is for passion, red hot and wonderful, the color of all the passions you have for life.
Had fun reading your post, I had an ancient red Fiat as my first car. A fire engine red Maserati will look good now, I think...lucky I don't need a car, a red bicycle is more my style.

Red was my dad's favorite color too. He must have had 3 or 4 red cars through the years, and he loved those cars. You would not have thought red would be his color either, but it was. My mom too... she would put something bright red in our house and say 'I'm not afraid of color and I love red'. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a Red Week and keep that Passion - peace and prayers
ReplyDeleteGreat post...I love red also, it just means life. He gave his blood for me to have life!

You look great in red. Someday I would love to hear about that decision to move across the country to Phoenix. I'm curious. Did you have culture shock? So different from east coast.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in red! Have a blessed weekend.
