Change is Inevitable

Change is inevitable.

So why is that I seem to wish things would stay the same?  I guess because it's familiar.

I had a wonderful three day trip to southern California this past week.  It was a gift from my Uncle Bob for my Aunt Ruth's birthday. We had fun reminiscing about the good old days.  And now my aunt and uncle are called Nana and Pop Pop.  Life changes and we all get older.

My younger cousins are now parents.  This is Jake and Kate.  It was such fun spending with them.  I love their precious smiles and their energy.  I have to say they look like Sumstad's.

Here's the family.  Rod is my first cousin and eldest son of my Aunt Ruth who is my father's sister.  His wife Jodi is a person I feel so relaxed around and hope to get to know even better.

I am heading to Florida tomorrow to visit my dad and brother and sister.  Again, there are many changes that have occurred.

I get to meet Kenzie Lee for the very first time!  Check out that adorable smile.  Your great aunt Debbie is on her way.  Brace those cheeks for lots of kisses.

Yes, life changes.  Kids grow up.  Many changes are good.

I'm slowly learning to embrace change.  As I look around our small condo that we recently moved into, I realize that I'm smiling more. Greg and I are spending more time together.  We are on the mend after many years of upheaval and ...change!

Nothing in this life is permanent without change.  It's also teaching me to trust God.

Blessings and love,

  6. So glad you enjoyed your time in California! And now Florida and the meeting of that sweet little baby...soo exciting, and time with your dad and the rest of the family...YAY... Cherish every minute of it...Change is one of the things we can count on for sure. It's always coming. Sometimes we can't wait and we embrace it, and others we drag our feet and try not to grumble. But one way or another, it comes. How much better off are we when we learn to trust Him with it huh? Soo hard for me, but I am working on it. Enjoy the rest of your day...HUGS

  7. So glad you had a good time in CA and now for a fun time in Florida. How wonderful!

As they say, "the only thing for sure, is change." Such truth! Not always easy, but it's pretty much a guarantee.

    Enjoy yourself!

Change seems to get harder for me as I get older, yet when it happens, I am learning to embrace it, too. I love the photos you've shared ~ that sweet Kenzie Lee is so adorable, and her smile is contagious! it is also good to hear that you are smiling more and embracing your new home with Greg ~ God is indeed good!

  9. Relationships. They make all the difference where "change" is concerned. You're going to have a blast in Florida, but I'm thinking you'll be as much a blessing to them as they are to you!

  11. Smiling is contagious, you are always smiling to the world, so it will inevitably smile back. Your relatives are lucky to be visited by you, you give them identity and a reason to feel proud and loved. May God keep blessing you on your family tour.

  15. I wish I could have driven to Southern Cal. to give you a hug! The only thing in life we can expect is change. Life changes, we change but God stays the same. I have a change coming soon as my daughter marries and moves out. Oh be still my heart!

  16. Smetimes a change of scenery does us a world of good. I am so glad that you are getting to travel some, that you get to see some of the "changes," but, that you also get to return to some of the comfortable familiar. To stay well-balanced, I guess we need both.
    Have a great trip1
