I had to laugh when my friend Jamie sent me this photo of her two little girls and a dog. I wonder who is really in the driver's seat?
It happens to be that adventure was my one word for 2012. I tend to be a dreamer and a planner. But lately my life has been anything but stable and planned. As I see it, I have two choices.
- Try to control my world and drive myself nuts with stress.
- Trust God and allow Him to guide me each step of the way on this adventure.
Frankly, I'm ready for #2. For too long, I tried to maintain control.
If I knew all that would happen in my life in advance, I think I would have run away.
So today I make the choice to:
- Begin my day in prayer and reading my Bible
- Yield every part of my life to the Lord
- Walk by faith and not by sight
- Not worry about where I will live
- Take life one day at a time
- Be more aware of those every day blessings
- Enjoy the moment
- Smile
- Know that God is ultimately in control of all things
- Anticipate answers to prayer
- Be excited about the possibilities God has for me
- Love others
- Laugh more
Blessings and love,
Dear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI so admire your persistent will to pursue your goals.
To go by faith and not by sight, that is an aim I strongly applaud.
I so know I'm just looking through a glass darkly for the time being.
In your hands are my days, that is my only option.
Honestly, it's not a desperate comment, but a laid back one.
I'm walking one day at a time and till this day, it has been a relaxing blessing to me.
I don't get to do very much of what I "ought to", but everything I need to.
Dear Debbie, we serve a great God.
Good morning! What a perfect word to claim for 2012! Adventure...I love it. Life really is, isn't it? I so love your list that I think I am going to have those same goals too. Have a wonderful day Deb! HUGS
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Debbie! I especially love your list! I need to follow it, too! BLESSINGS!
ReplyDeleteYour list sounds like a recipe for joy and peace! It's great advice for me, too! Blessings, Joan
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I ditto your post...trusting Him every minute of every day for all that goes on in our lives...It is truly an adventure but one that we can choose how we see it....I'm for your viewpoint.....Trusting our Father even when the road looks narrow and steep or the spacious valley...He's in control....
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings sweet friend....
Oh I love your list of goals. If we follow them, life will be a grand adventure! Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteI love Jesus and study at home, but due to my health I don't attend church. However I allow my wife to attend and she allows me to stay home. Prayer does avail much!
ReplyDeleteAmen my friend! It is all about perspective isn't it? A life with the Lord is always an adventure. :o)
ReplyDeleteThe photo is adorable!
Love and hugs!
Beth
Yes, and Yes..thanks I was getting anxious here again over lack of provision and it is truly where I put my sight that makes the difference...I have to lift my head to my source.
ReplyDeleteBlessings...you stay in my prayers.
Enjoy the adventure, He is there with us!
