I'm so thankful for fall break from school. When I worked in nursing, we never had time off like this. But I can understand the need for it.
And I for one ...enjoyed it!
I just returned from a few days in Florida visiting my family. Greg asked me what I wanted to do during my time away. I thought briefly about his question and then said "spend time with my family, go to the beach and put my toes in the water, rest and read".
Well, I think I covered all of those bases!
I had to laugh though. I noticed in my foot photo that it wasn't very pretty. You see, I stubbed my big toe into a post at school while I was walking and talking and not looking where I was going. Gosh, I think I'm getting just like my mom. :) Did you know it takes forever to grow a toenail back?
Here are a few of the photos I took this week in Florida.

I'm so thankful for my Kindle which was a gift from Greg when they first came out on Amazon. I'm a book lover and now I don't have to cart books with me on the plane.
I was able to spend hours reading several books, including Lisa Shaw's You Are Beautiful in God's Eyes. Btw, you must visit Lisa of Sharing Life with Lisa and watch her video as she discusses her new book.
I'm so thankful for this much needed family time, the rest, the beach and time away.

For those of you who are Facebook friends, you may have read about my exciting plane ride on Saturday. A woman collapsed on the plane. My nursing skills came in handy as I spent the last two hours of the flight on the floor of the plane. She was very fortunate to have three nurses sitting close by. Upon our arrival in Tampa, the paramedics boarded the plane and the woman was conscious and sitting upright. Praise God for that!
My plane ride home was uneventful other than a three hour layover in Las Vegas!
How thankful I was to see my husband Greg when I landed in Phoenix.
I'll share one more photo with you today.

I'm linking up with Lynn and Dineen of Spiritually Unequal Marriage as they are hosting Thankful Thursday for the month of October.
Blessings and love,
A Fall Break sounds like a really good idea. I haven't taken the time to put my feet in the water in quite awhile--not even bathwater! This has been a quick-shower-hop-out-run kind of fall so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time with your family--and isn't it nice when you feel glad to get back home?
Soo glad you got to go and visit your family...perfect break. Congrats to your niece! Such an exciting time. Haven't visited Lisa in a while. I am going to pop over now...thanks for the heads up. Oh, and what an exciting plane ride. How wonderful to know what to do to help! Have a good day....HUGS

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a nice time away and had a chance to do all that you wanted! I missed the story on Facebook about the plane trip there...But am glad that you and the other nurses were available to help! Isn't it wonderful how God works things out like that?
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Joan
Thanks for sharing these great
ReplyDeletepictures, Debbie! I really
love the one of you with your
dad. I would love to go to the
beach again and just feel the
sand and water between my toes.
Congratulations to Kristin
and Kevin. How wonderful!
Enjoyed the photos from your trip, glad you had a nice Fall break.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,

YEAH for a much needed and deserved Fall break! Looks like a great time! Oh the beach - ahhhhh!
ReplyDeleteHugs and much love!
Sounds like you had a great time! Now back to school all refreshed and re-energized. Hope your toe feels better. :) Happy Thankful Thursday.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, I was just looking at you on FB and then came here...what a blessing to have had you on the plane. When I was teaching preschool, I always tried to plan a weekend getaway every 3-4 mos so I could be refreshed. It is so exhausting mentally and physically. I am currently looking for a part-time job(hopefully not full time)to help with the economy. I'm not sure how well this body will readjust to working again. Hugs today.
ReplyDeleteLove, Noreen
Such a happy post.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for your fall break. And sorry about that poor toe! Your niece is glowing! And that book of Lisa's sounds like something that should be added to my list. I am hoping to be blessed with the new Kindle for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteYou are delightful and I loved being part of your trip. Hope you are rested and I will have to get a copy of Lisa's book. She is an amazing woman of God. So are you my friend. Happy TT. See you again this week. Hugs, Lynn
Hey!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my new blog.
I've not been able to bring my "followers" along with me. Still learning how to use Wordpress.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time down here. Maybe next year, when you come back, we can meet at Pier 60. I often run down there.
Nice to see your pics! You look great!
