Friday Photo Flashback ~ Lake Powell
I'm on spring break and I finally began cleaning out my garage. This has been on my to-do list for some time.
In one of the boxes, I found an old photo album dating back to 1985. Greg and I were married at the end of 1984 so this was our first year of marriage. I knew I had to link up with Alicia of More Than Words for Friday Photo Flashback.
Greg's sister Amy and a friend had invited us to fly up to Lake Powell in a small prop plane. We got to spend a week on a rented houseboat. What a fun time we had together!
Lake Powell is a huge lake on the border of Arizona and Utah. It is 186 miles long and has 2,000 miles of shoreline. At times, it's as smooth as glass. There's nothing like the reflection of the mountains in this lake.
Greg and I had such a good time that we purchased a boat and kept it docked at Lake Powell for several years. Those were the days of water skiing and camping out. Such fond memories!
What have you found in your garage lately?
Blessings and love,
Debbie, what a stunning photograph! Isn't it fun to sit look at old photographs, wish I took more time to do it. Like you, I'd probably be doing while cleaning out our garage too! I have boxes that I need to unpack, still sitting there, blogging is more fun!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and memories on Lake Powell!
Nancy
I am scared to look in my storage room. I really need to go in there.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. I have always heard of Lake Powell but have never been there. It is beautiful.
I just found all the medical records from my daughter's diagnosis with cancer 5 years ago at age 12. We were living in Honduras and there, you are responsible to keep your records, not the Dr. or hospital. I will never get rid of it thought because it is a testiment to how I brought her back to the US to a Children's hospital and after 6 weeks of 3 surgeries and many tests, they decided it wasn't bone cancer but they never could identify it. I know it is because God answered so many prayers and took the cancer away. Four months later they replaced the inside of one leg with a bone cement after they cleared the 'unknown' tissue away. I'm glad those records aren't locked up in the archives of some hospital!
ReplyDeleteSweet photo!
ReplyDeleteWe have been cleaning out our garage as we prepare to sell our home. I have been finding lots of treasures AND lots of junk! lol.
My old track uniform, dance outfits, books, etc... It's nice to reminisce but I'll be glad when that garage is all cleaned OUT! Simplifying and de-cluttering are VERY good things!
Have a great weekend, girl!
Hugs,
Kate :)
Never been there, Debbie. It is one place I want to visit. Have a great weekend.

What a great share! You both look awesome!! And that place sounds beautiful!! What a nice getaway!!!! I hope you enjoyed your spring break!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what have I found in my garage lately? LOL, laundry!
Short shorts...gotta love em! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place! Lake Powell looks to be a great place to visit. You and your husband look fantastic and seem to be enjoying yourselves.
ReplyDeleteAs for the garage question, I can't find anything in mine. Unfortunately, we do not have a garage here in Germany. That's the bane of living in stairwells.
Photos are such a wonderful thing! What a great one of the two of you, and the background looks like from a movie scene...What a beautiful world that is a testimony of God's awesome creations.
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for all the old photos, videos, etc...
hm...in my garage, there are many unknowns! (My hubby has been so good about going through the many boxes from our move here from Kentucky...he prefers to do that by himself, since my "help" tends to end up saving more than getting rid of).
Blessings & Aloha!
lol..lovin the shorty shorts!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo tho!!
Thanks for dropping by my blog!
I love the old photographs!
