Training Children

Training children is something I'm learning all about these days.

With a classroom of 18 three year olds that is so necessary.

I'm amazed that they are just like little sponges.

But it reminds me how careful I need to be as to what I teach and model for them.

For more Word Filled Wednesday, you can visit Lori at The Internet Cafe.

Blessings and love,

  3. They are indeed like little sponges. I used to get such a kick out of listening to what would come out of the mouths of children when I worked at the elementary school. Straight out of the mouth of their parents ~ soo many of them. Trust me, it made me sooo careful about what came out of mine. I love that verse too btw. Hung on to it for years with one of mine. It did prove true, praise God. Have a wonderful day with all those little sweeties. HUGS

  4. Oh, yes! They are just like little sponges aren't they! And what we sow into them, good or bad, will certainly reap a harvest!

What an honor it is for you to sow the His good things into their little hearts! You'll receive a multitude of blessings for sure for it!!

Praying that you have an abundantly blessed New Year!

    Hugs and Blessings!

  6. Eighteen 3 year olds sounds
like heaven to me. I love
kiddos. I think the Lord put
you in just the perfect job.
    These little darlings need
    someone filled with the love
of God to help mold and
shape them and I know you're
    doing a wonderful job.
    Shalom!

  7. Hi, Debbie
Don't you imagine that our Father wants us to be "like little sponges, too"? Just saoking up His love, and also soaking up his kindness and compassion so that we can share it with others?
    God bless you, Debbie.

  8. Yes they are...I so loved age 3 and really mourned when my now 5 year old finished age 3! I love this scripture because it says train him in the way "he" should go...which means we are all individuals..yes, all need Christ, but we still all have different bents.

Enjoy as long as God has you there...those little ones are so blessed to have you!!

  9. Dear Debbie,
You have got quite a challenge here.
To fill 18 different sponges at the age of three, is not an easy task.
Then again, it's most rewarding when you see your reflection in the children's eyes and minds.
I think God needed a giving, caring, consciously woman like you for this important task.
I know you will sow seed of eternal value.
    God bless your work.

  10. What a blessing you are to these young children and their parents. I remember my nieces/nephews when they were that age and yes, they were like sponges. Wishing you a great day tomorrow.

  11. Our duty is to teach them especially with our behavior and examples…

  12. I think it *was* actually on Wednesday when my father read this verse from a calender he received. My youngest brother goes: "I hate that verse!" We all laughed because who likes training? Training = spankings, scoldings, criticisms, etc. My parents are still training me and I'm almost 20.

18 three-year-olds!! Children *are* like sponges - they soak in pretty much everything - both the good and bad. But, train them early in the ways of God and when they're older, those days of training becomes worthwhile =)

    Stay blessed! =)
