Hosting In Other Words Tuesday Next Week

I will be hosting "In Other Words Tuesday" next week.  This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts on a quote that is chosen by the host (me for this week) and link up together.  It can be short or long.  Put on your thinking caps.  Pray about it.  And then write ...

Here's next Tuesday's quote:

"God loves you.  He loves you so much that He's allowed this trial to push you to the point where you have no choice but to look to Him."
When Life is Hard by James MacDonald

I've been reading When Life is Hard at the suggestion of my good blogging friend Lisa of Lisa Shaw Ministries.  If you've been going through a difficult time lately, this is a great book to read.

So, I encourage you to join in on Tuesday, January 18.  I'll have a linky up and ready to go.  See you then.

Blessings and love,

  1. Hi friend,

This Bible Study really blessed me and my group. We did it with the DVD as well as the workbook. Love the quote you chose from James' book.

It has been an encouragement for me during my own trial. I love that GOD is with us in the trials and He allows them to work on our conduct and character. Not meant to punish and rebuke but to build and shape us.

Also loved that at the start of that study he addressed the difference between the sufferings that come from CONSEQUENCES and that of TRIALS. I was really surprised by the groups response to that...in so far as so many didn't know the difference between that which we endure as a consequence of sin (disobedience) and that which we go through that is a trial so it was great awareness for many of them.

I'm so glad that you are doing this study now. It will bless you.

Last week we began his other study, "Lord, Change my attitude." and oh boy is that convicting and awesome to dig into.

Love you and praying for you and Greg.

  4. This is right where we are in our life. Nothing we can do except keep trusting Him. I really need to read this book I think. Thanks for the heads-up on it. I'll try to be back on Tuesday to check out everyone's thoughts and maybe even add some of my own.

    Have a great weekend.

  5. During tough times, I remind myself that EVERYTHING eventually works out for my benefit. It's the knot I tie in the end of my rope.

  6. Debbie -
I don't know how you find time for hosting, what with teaching, etc.

But good for you, girl, and I will be there next Tuesday. Have a good weekend. ...Marsha Young

  7. Debbie,
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comments regarding the loss of my friend. It meant a great deal to me.

I am looking forward to reading this book and following your posts. God does not always allow the way to be easy but He never lets us walk through life alone. I have found Him to be ever near when I call and easily found when life's way is rough.

I look forward to seeing where God will take us in the year ahead. Wherever we go, if we go with God, it is always an adventure.

    Blessings to you.

    In Grace,
    Marie

  8. Hi Debbie,

I love the title of the book "Life Is Hard", Sooo true.

I don't know if I'm going totally off topic here, but this is what came to mind; :o)
Pain & hard times are no stranger to me, I know them very well, but if I had a choice to avoid it all, I wouldn't want to, because it's what has changed me, opened my eyes, and redirected my focus onto Him. It seems the harder the trial, the more I grow, the more I thirst for Him.

" Don't get me wrong," I'm human, and in the midst of pain / trials I'm Holding My Breath, crying out
    "Jesus how much longer."

The kind of pain I'm referring to is that of an unstable mind, which is also know as a mood disorder. I have seen the Lord use my illness to teach me about self-control, and how to let go, and trust that He knows my heart, even when I feel like I don't have one. I know that our pain & suffering has a purpose, and He can use it in so many ways.

I used to think God healing me would mean that I would no longer have my disorder, but instead I have learned that He has used this illness to heal my heart, and save my life, my eternal life.

I may not be free from this illness, but it has greatly improved over time. I hope this does not sound like I'm insensitive to anyones pain or trials, I'm not, they have my heart, I care.

    God bless you,
    Michele
