If you've been around our bloggy world for any length of time, you've probably noticed this sweet face of sunshine. It's Lisa Shaw of Sharing Life with Lisa. And I had the pleasure to meet this sister ...in person!
What a joy!
Lisa and I have been bloggy friends for about two years. Her personality comes across loud and clear (in a good way). We bonded very quickly online and called each other 'sis'. She always teased about the family resemblance. The main thing we had in common was our love for the Lord Jesus Christ. But even besides that, we just seemed to gel so well together like we'd know each other for years. Oh and did I mention that we're both from New York?
When Lisa heard that I was going to Florida for my niece's wedding, she immediately wrote me to see if she could come and visit. I was only going to be there for a few days but she agreed to drive two hours each way just to give me a hug. Can you believe it?
Let me tell you ...Lisa is the real deal!
There's nothing phony about her. She has the most loving, kind and passionate personality. She's also an awesome prayer warrior. She not only promises to pray ...she follows through on it!
We planned to go out to lunch but in the midst of nonstop talking and loving, we never got around to it. Instead, Lisa tolerated and even enjoyed my family. I had been making Norwegian waffles and offered her some. She said that she wasn't very hungry but would certainly try them. She may not know but I saw her eat two of them after my brother-in-law gave her some pancake syrup. Lisa didn't know that we don't use syrup on Norwegian waffles; lol.
I was so glad Melanie of The Bella Mella was still at the house when Lisa arrived. Lisa has such a gentle way about her. I loved how she ministered and prayed for Melanie and her family. It was also a special blessing for me and my sister Christine.
Lisa has been so good to me in many different ways. She is the one who gifted me with the blog redesign of Heart Choices by Edie of Rich Gifts. She has a heart for the hurting.
But Lisa is also very honest and transparent about where she's been and what she's learned. I can identify with her time of carnal Christian living in many ways. I also think her honesty was helpful as many of my family members need encouragement to walk in the ways of the Lord.
I'm so glad for the Lord's patience with me too as He transforms me day by day. For some of us, it seems to take longer than others.
What more can I say about Lisa? She's a friend that I could spend lots more time with. I know we would laugh, cry and pray together. So, now I can't wait until our next face to face meeting. I hope you'll stop by and give her some bloggy love at Sharing Life with Lisa.
Debbie, Debbie, Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI am literally crying...your words humbled me...
The most important thing is that GOD has gifted us with each other through Jesus Christ and I'm beyond thankful about that.
Remember, we are sisters. We have the same Daddy just different Mothers (SMILE). Abba Father is our Daddy and our hearts are one.
I absolutely loved your family. I felt right at home at that kitchen table and YES I DID EAT THOSE TWO WAFFLES GIRL!!! Tore it up! Your brother in law should have never brought out that syrup! OH MY GOODNESS!! But I will say, they were nice and thin waffles so it was like eating 1.5 not really 2 (SMILE). Besides, my Grandparents taught me to clean my plate and be polite so when your sister in law plopped #2 on my plate how could I say no (BIG SMILE).
I was deeply touched by Melanie as well. She's so PRECIOUS! That's the only word that keeps coming to my heart.
Sis, my prayer is that I can get to you next year or you can get back here to me (bring Greg) and the four of us will have a good time in the LORD!
Love ya! Praying...
Oh and P.S. I LOVED YOUR BEAUTIFUL NIECE!!! What a sweet spirit she has!
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord

What a blessing indeed that you guys got together in His perfect time! And since I don't believe in coincidences, wonder where this is going to as part of His plan? That would be awesome, I know! Blessings and have a great weekend sister.

God is awesome to gather the hearts of HIS own together in one place! Have a super WEEK!
So many precious memories tucked into a time of celebration. My heart grieves that I've had to pull out of the GIRL gathering in a couple of weeks in the mountains of NC. Many of my blogging friends will be there, without me, but I bet we'll all have a chance to meet one another in the days to come. What fun we'd all have!

ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
Dear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteHow happy I am that the Lord is filling your life both with a loving family and such a dear, heart warm friend like Lisa.
You all look so close knit and glowing together. Great picture, I can feel the love all the way across the sea.
Imagine driving four hours just to eat two waffles, isn't that great?
Oh, no she brought a great er gift; she prayed for you.
The greatest gift and act a human can bring.
May you still be blessed this Lord's Day.
Words on my Margaret Fishback Powers calendar for today:Psalm 138:3" In the day that I called, Thou didst answer me; Thou didst encourage me in my soul with strength."
Comment," The answer is always coming, but often in unexpected ways"
How fun for both of you! And thanks for the mention for me too. You're so kind Debbie. :)
ReplyDeleteThose waffles sound good. What do you put on them if not syrup? Butter and powdered sugar works for me. :D
You were both sweetly blessed.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a precious meeting! I think I'm turning green! Debbie, you have been on my heart for quite some time. It is so good to see you in these photos with a full heart. May the Lord bless you outrageously! :D
