What does love look like in my home?
Wow; what a question to ask but ask she did.
Joanne of One So Blessed created a new meme with an opportunity for us to link up. And what better message to share than ...LOVE!
So, back to the question ...
Love in my home is when my husband Greg really listens to me. You know we women tend to use many more words than men. I like to give details and Greg likes to get down to the bottom line.
But there are times when he sees me so excited about something. Or the time I came home after a get together with my blogging friend Kathleen of Sassy Granny (and yes I'll be seeing her on Friday to say goodbye as she moves to the Seattle area).
Greg will tell me to sit down and to give him all of the details. He smiles and has me sit really close to him. I have to say those are some of the times when I feel so loved by him.
Is love in the air at your home?
Blessings and love,
That was so sweet. I love it when my husband does that or when he asks me how I am doing.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. What a blessing that Greg shows his love by listening and taking an interest in you and in the things you are doing. I love that my husband listens to me as well. And on the flip side, it is also a blessing when he comes to me to share what has gone on in his day! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Living for Him, Joan
Love it!!! My husband always touches my heart when he makes me breakfast in the morning and coffee since I have to be at 6 in the a.m. He gets the kids up and ready and take them to my mom house each morning during the week. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy my visit!! =D

ReplyDeleteI love it when my honey really listens to me.
After 34 years I have really trained him to know when it is NOT an option :)
Blessings to you sister,
Pat
what a beautiful post. and what a beautiful heart your man has!
ReplyDeletetonight love looked like a loaded car and dinner out when my husband noticed the dishes from last night were still in the sink. Better go clean them now ;0
My daughter's squinched-up face when she says: "I love you so much!" :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great way that he shows you love.
ReplyDeleteI just published my post.
Such a nice post sis.
ReplyDeleteThat's undoubtedly one of the most loving thing anyone can do. In a way, blogging has something of that quality, too. We write, and someone somewhere reads, listens, and comments-- it's quite a joy. Thanks for visiting and commenting. ;) Much love to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good question.
ReplyDeleteWhat does love look like in my home? I think it looks like this: My four year old randomly kissing me on the cheek and saying "Mommy, I'm glad God made you." It's my daughter's sweet hugs. It's my husband's listening ear and strong embrace.
This has me thinking of all the good and lovely things in our lives right now. I needed that this morning :) Thanks Debbie!
I hope you have a joy-filled Thursday, friend. You're a blessing :)
Hugs,
Kate :)
I love that your husband really takes time to listen. We often have to work hard at that in our marriage. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for your comments on my blog and the encouraging words.
And to answer your question... yes, love is in the air in my home when my husband listens, encourages and really knows my heart.
Love is also the time we spend together as a family... laughing and just enjoying one another.
Love is in hugs, kind words, smiles, and prayers.
Right now, all that's in the air in my home are gnats... that's right. The new parsonage seems to be fond of them. But my husband is at war with them, so in a round-about kind of way... that's love in action!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well.
peace~elaine
What a great post! Must be a man thing "get to the bottom line!" I hear that one alot!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis particular post of yours really made me miss my husband so much...he was one person who never failed to show me that he loves me.
ReplyDeleteYes, listening was what he did best! Just like your Greg.
Well, now that you ask, Is LOVE in the air at your home, my reply is a resounding Y-E-S! I feel the love all around.
Thanks for such a heartwarming post!
Love
Lidj
A perfect example of love :o) It really is like how you wrote...that most women tend to be about making sure all the details are expressed, whereas, most men are about "getting to the bottom line". haha
ReplyDeleteI tend to give the "long" version...of a story that could have been told in a snap :o)
I am so thankful that the Lord placed us with our perfect spouses :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
Debbie...you are always so encouraging and lift my spirits up... Whenever you stop by...you are like a ray of sunshine :o) (& you don't have to tell me about posting thankyous late haha...whew! mine was a an unintentional marathon, long overdue & just plain lengthy (hm...partly due to my tendency to naturally be "long-winded").
I tell you what...this was really good for me to read. . . and just like the smell of fresh flowers, or green grass in the spring, love has a certain "scent" about it. And for me, today, the scent of love was sheet rock mud, sand paper, cleaning supplies, and the smell of a freshly mowed lawn. My husband helped a dear family member of mine today--together we worked side-by-side over there all the live-long day, and I thought, "Oh wow. This feels so good to be able to help a loved one in need of repairs around their house..and to do this as a couple." That's what love is all about--giving of ourselves. Ooo..that's exactly what our Savior did for us too. He gave Himself to repair our broken relationship with Him. Thank You God for loving us!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic Debbie! I enjoyed reading this post. I truly feel blessed to have such a wonderful husband as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend.
~Melissa :)
You're so darn cute! I totally relate, though. It's a rare & precious gift when someone, especially our hubbies, gives their undivided attention.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry our Friday plans had to be scrapped. I ended up laying low with something that feels like a flu bug. Ugh!
Hugs,
Kathleen
This is so nice Debbie. What a blessing indeed. This new meme looks fun too. Maybe I'll join in this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving a positive comment. I sure do hope you join in the blog-hop. I thought it would be fun to do something to celebrate how much God has blessed me with so many dear friends in this place.
Love and blessings!
Great post idea. It's wonderful when my hubby really listens.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful way for your husband to show he loves you! Such a gift to have someone really listen to you!
