Why else would we need scripture to set us straight?! ;-)

And to GypsyHeart, I can remember the first time I ever heard someone tell me "To Let Go and Let God." I had no clear understanding of how one would do that. The man who told me this was a former teacher of my second husband; he'd just died, and for some reason I was drawn to visit this man. Perhaps he'd sent a sympathy card and an issued an invite if I were ever in town again. It's been so long, I can't recall that detail. But I do recall his words, and that it took me a long time to do this letting go. But I did eventually. I can still hear this man tell me these words in his office at the college. So I must still need to be reminded of the message. And that just takes me back to Warren's words, that we all struggle with worry. Letting go is part of the solution.

Thanks for this message, Debbie. It's a good one to be reminded of any time.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09505661913107994459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1282814980296803369.post-17485603694218889402010-09-24T14:58:06.860-07:002010-09-24T14:58:06.860-07:00My mantra is "let go and let God". Here is a thought on worry, that has caused me to stop and reconsider where my "head" was:

Worry is not just a lack of trust in God's provision. It is choosing to doubt Him instead of choosing to trust him. Yikes! We sure never mean to do that, do we? But sometimes we drift into it. Right now my "worry" is when will I have time to pack? Will I get it all done? When will I have time to write another blog devotional? Will I have the courage to ask for the day off from work tomorrow so I have more time? Ahhhh! I just need to breathe...and let God be God.

Thanks for the reminder!

Living (and breathing) for Him, JoanJoan Davis (Jo)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02305888520649862063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1282814980296803369.post-64305980261824957982010-09-23T08:52:12.257-07:002010-09-23T08:52:12.257-07:00Oh Debbie I think soo many of us can idenify with ...Oh Debbie I think soo many of us can idenify with this post. Worry is at one time or another a BIG problem for us all if we are honest. I have a medical problem with my recent condition (I will post on this later if I get the chance) and I worked myself into a real state yesterday. Our finances continue to be a struggle. My kids struggle as well with theirs. My mom has had a stroke and the impovement is slow. SIGH....But I do tend to always come back to the same thing....either I trust Him or I don't. And I am chosing to trust Him. Life is hard ALOT of the time. Posts like these are great reminders of what to do and where to go when we find ourselves in these situations.
