The Cottages of Carmel

Several weeks ago, I spent several days in one of my favorite places. The village of Carmel-by-the Sea is a charming ocean side community frequented by artists, writers, and poets. I enjoy the peace and quiet of strolling through the neighborhoods that have no sidewalks or street lights. The cottages are known by their name.

This was my fifth visit to Carmel and the fourth time I had the opportunity to stay for a few days. My first visit was simply passing through as I drove along 17 Mile Drive on my way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. But staying here is so different. The longer I stay I find myself becoming less stressed and more relaxed. I enjoy the quiet.

So I invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy a few of the charming Carmel cottages.

I had the opportunity to stay in a beautiful Carmel cottage. Here is a peek into my bedroom during my visit. It brings a smile to my face as I see the peaceful blue color and the brightness of this room.

Along with the beauty of the cottages, I loved the blooming flowers, the sound of the surf, the smell of the salt air, and even the sound of the many dogs!

Have any of you visited Carmel? Did you stay in one of the cottages?

Blessings and love,

  2. Looks and sounds like a little piece of heaven on earth. I feel much the same way about my Tennessee mountains. I leave a little piece of my heart there each time I visit. Thanks for checking in with me today. What a journey it's been!

  3. Hi Debbie~Thank you for the relaxing tour of my most favorite place in the U.S. I've never stayed in a cottage. We usually stay at Svensgaard's Inn. Drop me a note and let me know where you stayed, although it would be next year before we get up that way. Thanks for your note on my post about the lemons and Italy.
    Blessings, Janis

  7. Hi Debbie! I don't know if I've ever been to Carmel. The reason I say that is because my grandmother lived in La Jolla many, many years ago. I did visit her there, and I wonder if we drove to Carmel?
The photos of the 'cottages' are so lovely. I would hesitate to call them that, they look like mansions! Your place looks perfect for some quiet and rest. I'm glad you could take advantage...

  8. Beautiful sister Debby. It feels like I just had gone to a quick vacation by looking at those nice pics you shared. Reminds me of Thomas Kincade's art that came to life! Or maybe this was the place that inspired him? God bless and take care sister, remaining strong in the Lord's mighty power!

  9. How beautiful, I love the sound of this place. Anywhere that is so charming, peaceful, easy on the eyes, and frequented by artistic types calls to my heart! I will have to make a note of this place and go there one day. :)
