Does Anyone Else Love Fixer Upper?

I have to admit I have a new favorite TV show and it's called Fixer Upper. It's on HGTV. I started watching it on the weekends when I was stuck at home because of my allergies. I became so engrossed as I watched Chip and Joanna Gaines work their magic on homes I wouldn't consider buying. But what they do with them is AMAZING!

I've never been to Waco, Texas but I'll bet their real estate market has been doing much better since these two have been fixing up homes.

As I watched the interaction between this couple, I suspected they were Christians. There were a few things they said and then when a missionary couple from Uganda purchased a home sight unseen ...I just knew.

As I watched this family search for the perfect items at antique fairs in Texas, I thought of my blogging friend Sonja of Bits and Pieces and Janette of Janette's Sage.  I have a feeling they might love this show too. :)

Recently, I came across Joanna's testimony through a friend Brenna. I wasn't surprised at all.

As I look around at my little condo, I think to myself. What would Joanna do with this place? My husband laughed as I told him we need to knock this wall down to open up the space and redo the bathroom and kitchen. He quickly asked me, "What's your budget?"

Maybe one day ...

Or maybe we could just move to Waco? I do love horses and open spaces after all.

So who else loves HGTV's Fixer Upper?

Blessings and love,

  2. Are we sisters or what??? YES... Chip & Joanna Gaines are 2 of my favorites. I love every show they have done and I am asking Joe if maybe we should consider moving to Waco and letting them do a home for us... :) He isn't so sure about Waco, but seriously, those 2 are putting Waco on the map in new ways every week. Funny... I remember Joanna from when I set up at Round Top and she was shopping... WAY before this show.

Debbie... once more... you and I are on the same page sister! I also am so thrilled that they are christians and love the way Joanna expresses it on some of their tapes. Chip is just a mess, and you have to love him! I love how they love each other too.

I can't wait to see what she does with the silo and barn buildings for their offices and new store. :)

  3. Oh, I do love Chip and JoAnna and their show. Hubby and I will watch 2-3 shows back to back and never get bored with it. And, the fact that they are Christians is just "icing on the cake." Happy week my friend!

  5. Well you know I am shouting!!! We entered Waco the other day to see my grandmother and there on the side of the road was a huge billboard with Chip and Joanna on it pointing to why they love Waco. I have had the joy of going to her shop back in September. My daughter sent me this video this week. They are very inspiring...not only in decor...but more so for their obedience to the Lord. They are changing a city. We also drove by the silos. What a mighty God we serve and I pray He will still use me...in my old age!! Thanks for sharing

  6. I remember Waco when a cult by Koresh ended up in fiery way. So when ai happened to see this loving couple, I remember Waco now where a Christian couple lives and are making changes in those old houses to something new. Kinda like being "born again". My hubby and I recently did the wood floors ourselves (we love doing stuff at home) and I jokingly called him "Chip". And yes, maybe someday we'd all be moving to Waco and have houses renewed by this couple.LOL...I can't get tired watching them. I get renovating ideas from Joanna and they are just so down to earth and I love that they are making a difference in that place. Blessings to you sister Debbie.

  7. I was in Waco a couple weeks ago, I love the show and had hopes of meeting Chip and Joanna! My bff has known them personally for 13 years and we were going to try and get together but their filming schedule just didn't permit! My friend tells me they are just like on the show, sweet, happy and fun loving, yet hard workers! We did make it to The Magnolia and that was fun! Yes, I made sure to buy a little something from the shop!! Praying all is well on your side of town! Blessings, Cindy
