It's Five Minute Friday. This week our one word writing prompt is: FINISH.
START
Finish is a good word for me. I've been working as the Site Leader for my school's summer camp this year. It's been a long and very hot summer with triple digit temperatures. I need lots of energy to keep up with the long hours and the many children attending. There is only one more week to go. But I'm determined to finish strong!
Many of the little children are learning to swim. At the end of swim time, they look forward to hanging on to Nick and taking a ride to the end of the pool. As you can see from the photo, his arms are strong and he won't let them go. They've learned that they can count on Nick. He will not let go.
How about you? Are you at the end of a long season of challenges? Are you tempted to give up? I encourage you to finish strong. Don't let go.
"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Philippians 3:12 (NIV)
STOP
I'm linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker for Five Minute Friday.
Blessings and love,

Very nice blog Debbie, love the theme and word - Finish. Our faith has one goal, finish with the Lord Jesus and not settle for worldly offerrings and distractions.
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE had a busy and HOT summer Debbie... it's time to 'float' for a little while. Get some rest and relax, you have sure earned it!

Wow, triple digit temperatures! We don't even get that in Florida. I loved how you tied in finish and trust. Great scripture to live by. Hope you get a little rest now!
ReplyDeleteJust the message I have been mulling over the last few weeks - to not give up, to not give in - and asking God to let me finish strong - 'cause I can't on my own! Hope your summer cools down - and you have a little time for refreshing!
ReplyDeleteFirst I felt sorry for you Dabby, having to work that log and that hard. Children are wonderful, no doubt about thst, but they also are challenging, needy, helpless, homesick needing care 24/7. Then I thought how wonderful that God sendt you there to protect, love and care. Oh, I'm sure sure finish strong and regain strength. God bless you richly.
ReplyDeleteI remember how hot it is in Arizona. Thankful the children are getting to cool off. Hope you are well Debbie!
ReplyDeleteI also run a camp in the summer not sure if I want your triple digit temperatures or our thunderstorms and tornado watches
