Fun with Kids

Reading books is one of my favorite past times.  However, my Kindle is typically the way I now read books.  Although I love the feel of a book in my hands, I don't have room to store many books. I love how I'm always prepared if I have to wait for an appointment. My Kindle fits right into my purse for those occasions.

Developing a love for reading in childhood is the best.  My mom used to sit and read to me and I treasure those memories of time spent alone with her.  The children in our Pre-K 3 class are already learning to read.  Can you believe that?  They learn sight words each week like 'can, have, I'.  I love to see how excited they get when they learn a new word.  May we always have that excitement for learning no matter how old we get!
I love to see the children play on the playground.  This piece of equipment is such fun when they are able to hear one another clearly from different ends.  I've found it especially fun when I see a child with their head inside.  I go to the other end and speak their name when they least expect it.  They have a questioning look and then ...they start to laugh as they say my name back.  Too cute!

The children love to color and a few are extremely good at it.  Heidi once told the kids that she loves the sound of coloring.  Now when they are in the middle of coloring, one will inevitably shout out "we love the sound of coloring".  I remember how I also enjoyed coloring when I was a child.

I had to chuckle at this shirt.  I'm sure his mom picked this one out with a big smile!  We all had a good laugh; loved it.

I'm continuing to count my every day blessings ...

#766  I love my Kindle Fire
#767  Listening to the little children read beginning books

Hello Debbie! :)
My parents were my first influence for my love of reading! I love the freshness of a new box of crayons too. My mother and I love art. I remember the name of my early elementary years teacher and how she encouraged me in art. My mother framed one of my art pieces from that class.(Yes, I have it.)
Debbie, I'm thankful that you and Heidi are there to encourage these precious children! Hugs.

Reading is such a joy! I love that your kids are already excited about it. I saw a Dick & Jane book in an antique mall the other day... do I REALLY remember that?? :)

Hope your book is progressing well Debbie. I;m excited about it!

I'm with you on the book-reading, Debbie! Last week I posted a pic on Instagram and Facebook, and created a stir I didn't expect -- a love for Cynthia Rylant books! I'll bet she's a favorite of yours too!

It's always fun to hear kids read out loud especially if it's their first time. Growing up, it was through pages of many books that made me be able to visit many foreign lands and learn different cultures. Love your grateful spirit. Blessings and love to you sister.

That is my one of the most favorite verses in Jeremiah and I live the life in light of hope and believe that God has a plan for me that I can never understand but it is always in favor of my well being. I am especially thankful to God today for giving me a wonderful life with even much wonderful people. I love my family and my two little children. Future is indeed uncertain and we can only see it when it becomes present but we must not derail from the path he has shown to us and the principles he has set for us to follow. The sufferings or pain that we get is only the way to test us and to make us stronger. Your post is a reminder to all of us to trust his plans and to follow what he has instructed us to fulfill the goals of our lives.
