Five Minute Friday: Beyond

It's Five Minute Friday.  We get to write for five minutes flat on a word that is given to us by Lisa-Jo of Tales from a Gypsy Mama.  The word for today is ...beyond.

GO

It can be all too easy to get so caught up in the now of life. Circumstances that aren't perfect.  Ongoing struggles that never seem to end.  A feeling of overall fatigue.  Realizing that I need to get back into habits that help to move me forward towards my goals.  I want to get beyond the now and into the future that God has planned for me.

I read in my devotional "Streams in the Desert" this morning.

"The world says that 'seeing is believing', but God wants us to believe in order to see."

In order for me to see beyond my present circumstances, I need faith in God's plan.  Am I willing to grab hold of His hope for me?  Or will I stay stuck in the now?

STOP

I'm linking up with Gypsy Mama for Five Minute Friday.

Blessings and love,

I have "Streams in the Desert" on my bookshelf, waiting to be read. Looks like I may need to pull it our sooner rather than later.

    Thank you for sharing!!!

  6. You know I relate...and I think my weekend with Ethel was exactly that...were we both going to stay stuck! We allowed Him to let us see again and trust that He is still in control, even though in the natural we can't see it. So yes, seeing is believing

I spent the evening with another friend this week and the story was the same. I never see my friends, they live far away and it usually only once a year...but for some reason God has orchestrated it this summer....like those visits you get.

  7. With God we are so blessed to know that He takes us THROUGH the difficult times. He does have a wonderful plan for His children.

    Bless you sweet sister!

  8. I love the title, the photo, the quote from Streams about believing to see. You put in so much in just a few sentences, Debbie. A string of thoughts about the word beyond is also in my mind now, wanting to come out... but your post has already said most of it. Debbie, be sure to receive as much encouragement as you can from this day, as you prepare for it to end, (and in this part of the world it will just be dawn - not quite dawn yet as I write this comment) I am praying for you in a very special way. God sees and knows every detail of your heart desires, and He holds your past, present, and future in His hands!

    MUch love

  9. Oh Debbie as always can I ever relate. Seems as though I have been SLOWLY chugging through the days for months now to get BEYOND what we were dealt for this season in our lives. But your soo right. I need to have faith in His plan...Trust He will see me through to the end. I read this morning in my devotional that this road we are traveling together is ultimately a highway to heaven. When we consider this radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes much less significant. Hope you enjoy your week-end! HUGS

  11. I love how having faith can reframe our problems into opportunities to look beyond. God is so faithful to always give us reason to hope.

I like your take on "beyond", Debbie. As usual, you point me to believing more.

  13. Beyond. Looking beyond the storm clouds. My sister once told me as I was trying to take pictures for her SR portrait, "Tammi, look at those clouds! Can you see the blue sky behind them?" Now she's been with the Lord for 15 years. The other day I was driving on the bridge that was near the waterfront I had taken those pictures, and I thought of her. I looked up at the stormy sky and there behind some of those clouds was beautiful, crisp, pure blue sky! It was like God reminded me of what Sherri told me years ago! Look beyond the clouds and see the blue sky. Tears began to fill my eyes. I miss her very much. . but I know that one day I shall soar beyond this realm and into my heavenly home. I'll leave what's passed in the past, & enter my home in the Beautiful Beyond.

  14. The world says that 'seeing is believing', but God wants us to believe in order to see."

That is a challenge from God. Not easy sometimes, but when we obey, then we see God's work in our lives. Dare to believe:)
