Strong Enough

It's Then Sings My Soul Saturday when I link up with Amy of Signs, Miracles and Wonders.

The song I chose for this week is "Strong Enough" by Matthew West.  I've always considered myself to be a strong person.  But my personal strength can get in the way at times.

Instead of looking to 'self' for strength, I need to allow God to be my strength.  I need to come to the end of 'myself' and allow Him to work in me and through me.  That's real strength.

Where does your strength come from?

Blessings and love,

  1. Another great Matthew West song. I hadn't heard this one. Such a great message too. I'm like you, Debbie. Sometimes I think it's my own strength getting me through, but it's never enough. I need His!

  2. Hi Debbie....what an amazing song!!
Just think of all the tears, frustration and fear we go through before turning it over to God...Daily I ask for His strength because I know I cannot do this alone...He does listen!!
Thanks so much for this powerful message.

    Hugs,
    Lynn♥

  3. I really like Matthew West but I don't think I have heard this song. I enjoyed it. I have a lot of trouble leaning on God's strength. Life has taught me that I can only depend on myself so that is a challenge I face as a christian. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

  4. Debbie - You are so right. Self-sufficiency can either be a blessing or a curse, depending upon whether we take time to "Lean on the Lord." :)
Blessings to you today - Marsha

  7. Hey friend. Did you know this song was written because a K-love listener (I think) submitted her daughter's story. Her daughter almost died in a car wreck and after years of surgeries and therapy made a blunt statement to the Lord, "I guess you think I'm strong!" Matthew West wrote this song from that testimony. Cool eh?

  10. Oh, haven't heard this one but what a wonderful song!! Yes, I've often thought that the Lord must think me strong with some of the things He's walked me through. But, I have always come through stronger and am continously amazed at how He works to always bring us through to the other side.

Blessings for a wonderful Lord's Day tomorrow!

  13. I like how you said that sometimes our own strength gets in the way. That is so true. When we stop striving and let God take control, He will work through us in HIS strength enabling us to accomplish all He wants us to accomplish!

    Blessings, Joan

  14. I liked the pictures in the video too. Great illustrations.
My fav. verse is from 2 Chor. 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

I am not strong at all in myself, but when I am weak, then I am strong.
    Praise the Lord!

  15. P.S. Hope you'll manage to have some kind of a 17 mai celebration. Aren't there any Norwegian lodge in the state of Arizona???

I'll celebrate with my Mom. I wish you "gratulerer med dagen" in advance.

  16. I love this song too Debbie!

When we really begin to grab a hold of the truth that He is strong enough and He will bear our burdens and give us His strength... WOW! It is such a relief, isn't it? I sure try to carry my own load a long ways sometimes before I let go. :(

    Love you!
