Happy SONday!

Happy SONday to you!

Taking attendance in a classroom filled with three year olds can be challenging.  How do you keep their attention long enough to get an accurate count?

I love how Heidi asks each child to repeat a phrase when their name is called. They must have their listening ears on so they will be able to answer when their name is called. Saying “Happy Monday” or “Wacky Wednesday” or “Fun Friday” is a great way to teach them the days of the week.

Rachel and Raghav excitedly answer correctly each day. But Christopher is easily distracted. When his name is called he often makes up a day or …he simply smiles.

The other children are invited to help Christopher out. They yell out “Happy Monday” all together to remind him.

So, what day is today?

It’s Happy SONday!

In case you've forgotten, it's a special day.  God loved you so much He gave His Son  Jesus to die for your sins.  And all you have to do is receive the gift of life given through His love.

Today you may encounter people who don’t realize it is ‘Happy SONday’.

May I make a few suggestions?

• Greet someone with a smile and say ‘happy SONday’
• Take time to really listen with your heart to someone today
• Shake the hand of someone new in your church
• Call someone who may be lonely
• Send a card to a hurting friend

I invite you to add to this list.

So, are you paying attention?  What day is it?

It's Happy SONday!

May you spread the love of Christ today.  Did you know you can even share it without words?

Does the world see something different in you?

Happy SONday to you!

Blessings and love,

  5. That was a Happy Sonday blog Debbie! I am sitting at home with snow all over the ground, so I am not at church and not passing the SON shine on to anyone else today except my hubby! But it is a GOOD SONday!

    Have a great week!

  6. What a sweet post, Debbie.
I love kids and think you're
so fortunate to be able to
    spend your days with the
little ones. I can add to
    the list. How about running
    errands for an older friend
or neighbor or even one who
    might be ill?
Hope you have a great time
    this week with the kids.
    Love,
    Sandy

  7. this is so great! thank you for bringing
us back to whose day it is.

we have a daughter named sunday, and
sometimes i like to nickname her "sun",
but whenever we're out and about, i'm
afraid someone will think i'm saying,
    "son." :)

  8. How precious..I can just see that little boy, and would probably want to give him a hug.

Yes Happy Sonday! Our Sonday surprised us with snow...and Benjamin has been running around saying how much he loves snow and how beautiful it is...so we have enjoyed the creator through His creation today!!

Have a great week!! Continued blessings and Shalom

  9. Beautiful reminder sister Debbie! Happy SONday to you! His glory is brighter than the sun. Men should have really spelled Sunday as Sonday. Going home from work this morning, listening to the Christian radio, the pastor talked about the Jews still calling Sunday as "The Lord's Day". He deserves all the days of the week, not only Sunday to be praised and worshiped by all!
Praying for the tragedy that happened there in AZ. May His comfort blanket those affected by the senseless act of violence! Take care sister and have a great week ahead. Love and blessings back at you! :)
