Blog Parade

I'm joining in on Abigail's 32nd Street Blog Parade. I started writing this post several days ago and just realized today is the last day to participate.

I learned about it on Kim's Homesteader's Heart. I love to visit her when I need a good laugh.

Abigail's blog parade includes many prizes and giveaways if you participate. So if you want to have some fun, I hope you'll join in too.

Here are the questions along with my answers:

What is your favorite time of the day and why?

I love early morning. I never set my alarm clock but I always seem to wake up before it's light outside. This time alone allows me to spend in prayer and reading the Bible. Believe me, my husband is very happy when I get up early and have my quiet time as I'm always in a much better frame of mind all day. And that certainly helps when a husband and wife work together. :)

If health wasn't an issue, what food would you live off of?

I love McDonald's vanilla ice cream cones. Even a small cone is enough to satisfy me, especially on those hot Phoenix summer days. I'd rather have ice cream than a meal but since I am aware of my health ...I don't.

If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be?

That all of my loved ones would be saved and walking with the Lord in their daily lives.

What's one thing that you get teased about alot?

My depth perception is bad. I'm always slamming things down unintentionally. My husband gets a kick out of it.( And btw, this isn't the kind of depth perception I suffer from; lol.)

If you could choose one movie, book or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?

The Walton's TV show. I was the only one in my family who enjoyed watching the Walton's. I would probable be like Mary Ellen Walton, the oldest sister who studied to be a nurse. It just seems like these were simpler times.

If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?

I would love be able to have a good voice and sing well. Both of my parents were very musical. They both had great voices but I guess I didn't inherit that trait. My mom played the piano by ear. As for me, I sing a joyful noise unto the Lord but others would probably prefer not to hear it. :)

If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?

I would love to take Greg to Norway and spend time on the Sumstad family farm. We'd have to go in the summer as it is located in northern Norway and the roads get very snowy and icy. I would love to explore and spend time fishing and walking and reading. If you were an awesome singer, what genre would it be?

I'd love to be a contemporary Christian singer but I also love many of the older hymns. On the other hand, I also like country music.

If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?

I would like to go to the Apple store and get a new computer with all the bells and whistles. Come to think of it; an iphone would be nice too. :)

If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?

I'm glad that I live at this point in time. Although I enjoy learning about history and often think of what it was like when Phoenix was first being settled, I can read about it and see plenty of photos. I believe God planted me in this time for His purposes so I'm happy to be here for such a time as this.

If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?

I'd probably choose black since it's a very slimming color and I have lots of it in my wardrobe.

If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be?

Happy cause that's what I want to be.

What's the last album you listened to?

Selah's Greatest Hymns. I love all of their music but the older hymns are very special to me.

What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?

I experienced the Northridge earthquake that rocked southern California on January 16, 1994. I was attending a nurses' training conference for Medtronic pacemakers and was rudely awakened at 4:30 in the morning. I had to hold onto the bed so I wouldn't be thrown out of it. I live in Phoenix so this was totally new to me. But it was quite an experience to remember. Medtronic gave me this t-shirt to remember the event.

I encourage you to visit Abigail at her 32nd Street Blog Parade.

Blessings and love,

  2. Oh I'm so glad you participated. Wasn't it fun? I loved the idea of the Apple store being the store to spend the 10,000. There would be a lot of fun things in there to buy!
And there is just something about morning time isn't there?
    Hugs to you my friend.

  3. We really have a lot in common. Most of the things you listed made me think, "That sounds like me." Suppose it's this Arizona air?LOL
And the depth perception thing. My hubby is always saying something about the way I set things down hard and shut doors hard. I just naturally do it that way. I'd really have to concentrate to do them "gently."
    Hugs,
